The mental breakdown of Donald Trump is proceeding apace. And MAGA is in a bad way. In the past 12 hours or so an imaginary boycott of Taylor Swift has been reported. To what end? To act as political infotainment, evidently. There’s no tangible reward for the idiocy you’re about to see. I suppose it’s arguable that MAGA might have donated a few pennies more to Team Trump, believing that they were helping to destroy a world class celebrity like Taylor Swift. But mainly I think this is just one more example of the dishonesty and mean spiritness of the Trump counter culture. As to Trump himself raving in all-caps about the performer, that is more evidence of his public mental collapse.

I don’t think “satire” is an accurate descriptor here. Satire and parody imply some kind of an entertaining riff on existing facts and this is just flat out sensationalism and lies. To use a hoary old cliche, there’s no “redeeming social value” in this fake news piece, it’s just blasting Taylor Swift in retaliation for the fact that she chose to endorse Kamala Harris.

And while this piece was being put together, lo and behold, Donald Trump took to Truth Social and melted down in all-caps. And one of the topics of his rage is Taylor Swift.

So I guess it’s official now, Taylor Swift and Donald Trump are at war. What an imbecile. How did the Republicans paint themselves into a corner with this childish clown? This attack on Swift hasn’t been cross-posted to Twitter yet and I’m wondering if it will be. Trump can post anything he wants on Truth Social but when he does something stupid on Twitter it blows up in his face in short order.

And, this is comical, Trump is busy reposting the video of his assassination attempt two months ago in Pennsylvania. He is beyond livid that he’s not getting the mileage out of that event which he anticipated. The assassination attempt was going to be his ticket to a Reaganesque 49-state win and so far it isn’t working out that way.

This was a stupid move on Trump’s part. Look for this to blow up like a mushroom cloud.

    • Not so much deliberately trying to lose as much as not giving a damn any more because the fix is in. He’s acting like he can take a shit on every holy book known to mankind, up to and including the n.t., and tell everyone “and I’m still gonna win”.

      Look, it’s great that a person who is famous with young people is endorsing a presidential candidate. Who knows, maybe it will encourage them to register to vote and then actually vote: stranger things have happened. The problem is too many Swifties are not old enough to vote and the others are self-absorbed twits who can’t be bothered to take their nose away from whatever screen they’re glued to. Von shitzinpants worrying about Taylor Swift endorsing V.P. Harris is just another indication of how fucking stupid he is.

      For 3-6 months at least, then let the Grim Reaper have his way. Though another year or two to see most of the legal judgments out of the way would be a bonus.

    • beadecked, your concern that TFG “is going to get much worse as this campaign continues.” is a given. It got to that point when enthusiasm over the Harris-Walz campaign took off. TFG is a one-trick pony and can only respond to outside forces affecting his reality by increasing the level of his lying and name-calling. Insanity, being defined as doing the same thing repeatedly and expecting a different result, Is a major personality affliction.

      We can either sit back and watch in bemusement with wine and cheese/beer and pretzels/popcorn and soda, and laugh as his increasing frustration over the developing situation sends him ever further and further around the bend, or we can ignore it; either way we MUST deliver the coup de grace on November 5. VOTE!

  6. God…I’m envious. Taylor is now so rich, talented, beautiful, and still has an admirable character, that the slime mold known as crybaby Trump goes on attack against her with his deluded self importance. I wonder how long it will take for her to stop laughing?
