You’re about to see another disgusting meltdown coming from the White House and yes, it is trained at a female journalist. How did you know? And it is unhinged. As you can see from the look on Trump’s face, he’s the piggy, red eyes and flushed pudgy cheeks and all. But forgetting any physical characteristics, it is simply monstrous how Trump speaks to other adults, let alone journos, let alone females. Nobody should be allowed to comport themselves like this, especially not in our nation’s capitol and not at a time when a member of the National Guard has died from wounds and another one is barely hanging on to life.

It’s classic. Somebody who is not a native born American has committed a crime. Ergo, it’s Joe Biden’s fault because that person would not be in the country — according to Trump — but for the fact that Biden saw to it. Now are you ready for the sublime irony of all? The two National Guard members shot at would not have been at their posts in Washington, D.C. but for the fact that Trump brought them in to “protect” the “crime zone” that is the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. But is he admitting to that? Hell, no.

Trump has never been a person with filters or impulse control but he is decidedly getting worse. Now, no matter what somebody says, no matter how mundane the question, he goes on the attack. He seemingly hates everybody and everything. Nobody can do a job in that state of mind but especially not the job of POTUS.
Expect Trump to whitewash everything he does and make it about Joe Biden. We’re going to hear that for the next four years, no matter what the subject is, grocery prices, inflation, death of a National Guardsman, it doesn’t matter. Trump has no answers and he’s enraged that he’s expected to have some and so you hear the outrage but no facts, ever.
Get used to it, it’s not going to get any better, only worse.
And if you want to dig even deeper, it’s well known that Trump screwed up the withdrawal from Afghanistan and left Joe Biden boxed in, to do what he could. So once more, if you trace things back to their origin, it is Trump’s failure that has resulted in the death of this young woman, and her colleague hanging on for dear life, far more than anything that Biden or anyone else did.
But you’ll never hear that. The formula for this propanda-laden administration is to blame somebody and demonize not only the perpetrator but their entire ethnicity. We saw it with the Haitians “eating the dogs and the cats” in Ohio. It’s absurd but when you need The Other to demonize, then come up with The Other you do.
Trump campaigned on getting us out of Afghanistan. He had four freaking years and didn’t get it done. Not even after the Taliban gave him a wish list of demands for our withdrawal and he basically said ‘fine – whatever you say.’ And he STILL didn’t take any meaningful steps to meet his own deadline he’d agreed to. He dumped it off on Biden.
I said before, during and since that the final days would look like what happened with the fall of Saigon and we got a version of it. Even if Trump, who’s mind was already failing didn’t remember the images in the spring of 1975 he had people on his staff who did. Trump doesn’t read but pictures? People hanging in human chains from the skids of helicopters taking off from the roof of the embassy. Others over at Da Nang. All the helicopters pushed over the sides of ships into the ocean to make room for those we could rescue on the decks. And so on.
All the airfields, superb facilities we left behind filled with supplies and American equipment we’d given to South Vietnam we couldn’t get out. Now think about the Aghanistan withdrawl if you are old enough to have watched the fall of Vietnam on the nightly news and tell me you didn’t have flashbacks to 1975.
Even if Trump didn’t pay attention to the news back in 75 (he was after all concerned with partying and f**king in the hottest night spots in NYC every night back then) you can be damned sure top staffers who remembered showed him the pictures. And he trusted them when they said no matter how hard we tried to get Americans and Afghans who had proven helpful out a bunch would refuse to leave until the very end because they refused to believe the U.S. really was pulling all the way out. They’d had chances but gambled and lost.
In those last couple of weeks and especially the last one simple logistics – only so many people able to fit on so many flights led to the repeat of Saigon. My point is that it jolted Trump who still retained ONE capability – PR savvy and he knew damn well that type of scene would doom his re-election no matter who he ran against. So he dragged his feet.
As for the alleged lack of vetting I at least saw some pushback on TV today. We need lots more. As I wrote regarding the DC shooter he’d worked for the freaking CIA for years. OF COURSE they vetted him before trusting him and like anyone (including Americans) regularly checked up on him. As for him and others when they came here despite various entities, military or intelligence they’d worked for they had to go through a whole new round of checking out/vetting.
The DC shooter was finally granted asylum. In APRIL 2025 – as in AFTER Trump was President again. No wonder he’s trying to deny and deflect!

Drumpf *conveniently* left the actual withdrawal date to happen in the summer of 2021 (even though the “agreement”–made without ANY input from the LEGITIMATE government of Afghanistan; talk about “negotiating with terrorists”!) WITHOUT making any actual plans for the withdrawal of our troops OR the safety of Afghans who’d given assistance to our troops.
Drumpf and his cadre/cabal made absolutely NO actual plans and left NO recommendations or suggestions or the barest skeleton of a framework for the Biden Administration to follow (which is why the Biden team had to push back the “agreed upon” withdrawal date by another couple of months). Plus there was the little fact that Biden inherited an effed-up economy, still being ravaged by COVID (which your forkin’ idol did NOTHING to alleviate in the nearly full year he spent in office).
