We now descend into yet another sub-basement in civil discourse in this country. Donald Trump lives in a fantasy-construct of his own, where tariffs do things no economist has ever heard of and where all norms, mores, and values are disregarded and discarded. He’s not a well man. Yet he has struck the id of half of America, and they are with him in some batshit suicide pact — except they don’t know it. They *believe* what he says, when history has shown that nothing he says can be believed. (You remember how COVID was “going to disappear, like a miracle…in the Spring when it gets warmer?”) In any event, here is the latest bottom. For now. There is no low they won’t go, expect this to get much worse.

This photo was taken yesterday in Paris at the opening of Notre Dame cathedral after its restoration from a terrible fire in 2019. President Macron invited Trump so that he could have him meet with Volodomyr Zelensky. Brigitte Macron, the First Lady of France, was seated between Trump and Jill Biden, but she wasn’t in her chair and so His Obnoxiousness began to chat up Jill.
And maybe this was the ultimate goal, to troll the current president and his wife by using Jill in Trump advertising. I would suggest that Jill Biden could sue Trump for unauthorized and uncompensated use of her image to get money, but why bother? It would just give Trump cannon fodder for more abuse and misbehavior.
He is a clueless, classless buffoon and we are embarking on a disastrous voyage. But only half of us support this travesty of a person and imitation of a politician. And the pendulum of history, and politics, always swings back.

Respectfully, it isn’t “half of us” who support drump. Considering all the eligible people who *didn’t vote* — discussions for another time — it’s less than a THIRD of us who support him. Perhaps barely a quarter. Either way, it’s a travesty that such a small percentage of the adult population saddled us with this walking turd.
