Mark this date as a dark one, both in the history of government and of jurisprudence generally speaking. Kash Patel got confirmed by a scared spitless GOP conference, too terrorized by King Donald and his MAGA cult to vote along rational guidelines. If Patel comes as advertised, and in fact intends to carry out the purges he has bragged about in the past, then life as we know it will be very different. And guess who just crawled out of the woodwork to help him? None other than now-pardoned felon and Oath Keeper Stewart Rhodes.
Elmer Stewart Rhodes III, the founder and former leader of the Oath Keepers, told reporters at CPAC Thursday that he would enjoy working for the FBI or for Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard.
He’ll work for either Kash or Tulsi. I know I’ll sleep better tonight. A convicted seditionist one day, a “parole officer” shall we say, the next? Or somebody who knows who’s where in the spy community?
On Thursday, he said that he wants to help more people, who he calls “political prisoners,” get out of prison.
“We have a lot of political prisoners in this country, not just J6ers but other people too,” he said, noting it is his new crusade to make radical changes to law enforcement.
“I want to see the snitch culture and the entrapment culture at the FBI and DHS changed,” he continued. “And until that happens, I feel a little bad about having people join a group where they could be entrapped by a flood of agents.”
“I want to see that fixed,” he said. “In fact, I could help do that. I want to work for Kash Patel to clean the FBI up or Tulsi Gabbard. So I want to help clean up this corruption in government.”
Now there is this one teensy weensy hassle, that you can’t be a convicted felon to go to work for the FBI, according to the agency’s website. But this is Trump world and very probably Kash would seek to dispose of that small consideration once he’s sworn in to take his duties. Listen to more of this if you can stand it. America took a big step towards fascism today. How much of this is scare tactics and histrionics and how credible these threats are, we are soon to find out.
The cult is strong with this one. So is the crooked. Not a good combination where the yous and mes are concerned.
