The attorney general of the State of New York is nothing if not cool, calm and collected. Composure is her hallmark. She has seen a great deal in her tenure as a member of the bar and as a public servant and she is under zero illusions about who Donald Trump is. And likewise, Trump is under no illusions about her. Trump hates Letitia aka Peekaboo James. He calls her Peekaboo because he can’t call her jigaboo, but Peekaboo gets close enough to the racial epithet to where it’s nudge nudge wink wink time amongst Trump, Rudy, and all their cronies when he says it.
Today was yet another landmark day in the Trump Organization fraud trial. You’ll see it summarized in just a moment below, by none other than AG James herself. But first you’ll want to take a look at Trump reacting to James’ comments and co-signing on a suggestion of violence against both her and Judge Arthur Engoron. I daresay that one or more of Trump’s lawyers gagged and choked when they saw this and either begged Trump to take it down or ordered one of his aides to. (I suspect the latter. Trump is too far gone mentally these days to realize how he continues to put his personal liberty in jeopardy.)
That is very bad. And this is precisely what Jack Smith is attempting to nip in the bud with the 67-page filing he made to the court earlier Tuesday in an effort to get Trump’s gag order reinstated — or get Trump thrown in jail, which would be justified. Any other defendant behaving the way Trump has would have already been cooling his heels in the House Of Many Doors.
Here is what Letitia James had to say about today. This is Bedtime Hour, basically, where the AG talks about the Never Never “fantasy” Land that one orange-hued defendant lives in, as she tucks everybody in for a good night’s sleep before they appear again in court in the morning. Or, in front of their TV screens or their computers to watch the goings on.

It was a complete joke in court today. The “expert witness(s)” went down in flames, embarrassingly so. Not to mention Trump’s lawyers.
Engoron asks Kise, “Is it your position that if a financial statement has two assets, one is overvalued and one of which is undervalued, that if it balances out, there’s no materiality?” Kise resists, but ultimately says yes.

The fact that Kise even tried to make that argument underscores the dual nature of this lawsuit defense: 1. the actual legal defense takes a backseat to, 2. the soundbite world of Fox News and the rest of right-wing media, where all this makes sense. Trump’s lawyers are literally whoring out their law licenses. They know what they’re doing is screwed — but if there are several million dollars in the bank and you can go kick back and chill in Costa Rica or someplace when all this blows up, then there is that to look forward to.
Kise, Habba, and the rest merely decided that it was best to go out of the practice of law rich and disreputable, than to continue to toil in the legal vineyard until they’re old and grey. Who are we to judge, right? Personally, I’d rather toil in the vineyard and have my own self respect and the respect of my peers, but we’re all wired differently.

He can’t educate the judge or anybody, for that matter, unless the subject he’s attempting to teach is fraud. That’s all this is, is razzle dazzle sleight of hand and rabbits from hats time. The numbers mean whatever you want them to mean, just like in Alice In Wonderland, except there they were talking about words instead of numbers.
This fiasco resumes again tomorrow. And we can expect another recapitulation from Letitia James. And we can also expect Trump to become progressively more and more unhinged as the days go by. Of that there is zero doubt.
Law license…a license to publicly lie. If the law policed ITSELF then there would be no insurrectionists who are members of the bar.
