The Virginia gubernatorial race is over, and the post mortems have begun in earnest. However, nobody seems to be focusing on what is glaringly obvious except me and the Gateway Pundit, if you can believe that combination. I guess the MSM will chime in at some point but for the meantime, here’s what we in the weeds have figured out.
The one silver lining to this mess if that assuming Youngkin wins, the blather about stolen elections has to stop. And that is worth a lot, if you think about it.

A full audit in Florida is going to look ridiculous, they always do, but that’s part of keeping the Big Lie alive and in play, which is going to be very difficult after last night’s win in Virginia, not to mention the close race in New Jersey.
So what to do about the Big Lie when Republicans win? You can’t have your cake and eat it too.
I don’t want to link to Gateway Pundit because I don’t want to drive traffic over there. This is at the bottom of their lead story today entitled “On One Year Anniversary Of the 2020 Election Steal — Was the 2021 Virginia Race a Head-fake by Democrats?”
On Tuesday Glenn Youngkin won the governor’s race in Virginia. He was an impressive candidate and it was a stunning win.
As Joe Hoft reported earlier today — One year ago 300,000 votes magically appeared for Joe Biden in the middle of the night to give him the win in Virginia. These magical votes have yet to be explained. The Democrats, fake news and even the Republican Party are incurious.
So where were the magical votes this year? Was this omission on purpose? Was this part of a larger psyop on the American public? Was this part of their game? Throw in McAuliffe as a sacrificial lamb knowing they can steal any future election at will?
So, was the 2021 Virginia race a head-fake by Democrats on the American public?
So far this is right-wing media’s best shot, although I would bet my best laptop, the one with the broken hinge, that conferences a plenty are taking place in the hallowed halls of Newsmax, OAN, Steve Bannon’s War Room, you name it.

This is the obvious take. I wonder what Mike Lindell is going to do now? How is he going to answer this question? I can’t wait for him to chime in. Meanwhile, he’s apparently not ruling out military intervention if the Supreme Court doesn’t see things his way.

It is Occam’s Razor time, and I suspect right-wing media would rather it was a real razor that they could cut their collective throat with rather than admit the obvious: Republicans win some elections, Democrats win others. There is no fraud. There is no problem with the voting machines. Donald Trump’s a loser, deal with it.
The Big Lie is in deep doo doo and I say glory be. Finally. And don’t think Trump isn’t sweating and wondering how to pivot from this.
Let’s see what the trial balloon from Gateway Pundit does. For right now there’s silence in the rest of the right-wing media.
Naw. They’ll just start saying they’ve gotten word from “patriots” who infiltrated the Democrat’s election “stealing” team and prevented our folks from carrying out the “steal” scheme they’d set up. Of course, those “patriots” will have to remain anonymous because they are in danger, setting up to work in key states in 2022 etc.
Trust me. They will find all kinds of bat-shit crazy explanations about our side being unable to “steal” things yesterday. Worse, the MAGAts will eat that shit up with a spoon.
The real problem Ursula is you seem to be a reasonable, rational, moral person. None of the arguments you make will matter. They make this shit up as they go. How many videos, interviews, actions has frump & mitch & the rest made where one minute its white, then black, then white, then black. The problem is we democrats try to fight fair with facts, reasonable arguments, etc. & no matter how many times they cut our collective guts out, we either refuse to fight to win or we’re afraid to fight like hell, although WE ARE RIGHT. We don’t send our boys into battle with good reasonable arguments. WE SEND THEM TO KILL TO WIN WITH GUNS.PERIOD. And if we didn’t we would be sending them to be slaughtered. We are not dealing with reasonable people. We are dealing with folks who are willing to do whatever it takes to keep power, like the kings of old & dictators around the world. Until we are willing to do what is necessary to keep democracy alive & win, WE WILL LOSE IT. Then the nice people can bitch & whine & be perplexed as to how it happened. The graveyards are full of innocent people killed by EVIL BASTARDS.
Those graveyards also have more than their share of would-be conquerors who bit off way more than they could chew. And I am WAY over the sexy silver bullet options being floated that start with the premise of “If we just do this, all our troubles will magically go away.” It’s reductively stupid as strategies go, the very essence of “we need to destroy the village to save it.” It’s why the likes of Trump was able to take over the GQP; they never did anything BUT chase those solutions to their problems.
Stacey Abrams provides a very useful template for what is needed for getting this right: unglamorous, boring, tedious drudge work that will take anywhere from years to the rest of our lives. When I was texting, I did it with the understanding that there were no guarantees of success…UNLESS I DID NOTHING. However, taking some action that makes you feel good but accomplishes little that lasts past a news cycle is the next best thing to nothing. Personally, I need something better than that kind of a cheap fix.
The GOP has no problem being mind-numbingly hypocritical, or contradicting themselves.
E.g. Jan. 6 was both a patriotic protest and a “false flag.” So, don’t expect them to abandon the Big Lie anytime soon.
The real silver lining? A warning to Democrats that we have to be more aggressive against GOP lies and corruption. That we have to show how the GOP has screwed working people. Because people are getting fed up with inaction.
did you see Manchin’s blather today, post VA election? I pretty much have lost all hope in the dems because they are incapable of learning and he is a prime example however the progressives bear an equal share of the blame for not being the adults in the room when faced with the spoiled brats Manchin and Sinema. HAD Biden been able to sign one, or both, bills I can guarantee Terry would have won.
Who would want to vote for a party that is fucking up so badly in D.C.? If they were all standing at an intersection and the “walk” signal came on, they’d all argue and bicker until it turned to the “don’t walk” signal, lose an opportunity to cross safely, and proceed into the intersection to get run over by a semi. I myself am pretty much done with the whole lot of them. They cannot govern and they prove this every effing time they hold all of Congress and the Executive branch.
Trump WILL try to make 2022 about himself. In his mind, everything is. And he WILL push Youngkin to get the 2020 election overturned. Youngkin will do his best to ignore him or supplant him but I imagine that will be tough. All that happened last night was the lid on Pandora’s box got pushed open a couple of inches.
Agreed, Bareshark. The Virginia gubernatorial win will give the GQP a false assurance that they are doing EVERYTHING right. And tRump has ALWAYS thought he can do no wrong. WHEN will the courts finally put that man behind bars where he belongs???
Death Sentence is a toady. You can just look at his face and see it. But you don’t have to only rely on that since he acts like one every day of his little toadying life.
To believe the “Big Lie” you have to believe the Democrats are the most intelligent and cohesive organization the world has ever seen. Since this is clearly absurd the “Big Lie” is also absurd.
