Remember QAnon cultist DeAnna Lorraine declaring, “We’re gonna know the f**king truth in 25 days?” Well, friends, it’s been 25 days and now everybody knows the f**king truth. Obama and Hillary and Biden are not in chains and Trump isn’t in the Oval Office. QAnon prophecy has failed, woe is them. Even Code Monkey Z has thrown in the towel.

But these crises of faith pale beside those of The Proud Boys, whose eponymous proudest moment was when their leader, whom they call “Emperor Trump” told them to “stand back and stand by.” They were being called to action — they thought. What is finally being to dawn on them is that they were listening to a reality TV shill improvise a scene, in an ongoing skit of his device called, “Dictator Don Does D.C.” the political version of Debbie Does Dallas. They did their part and He did not. Now the arrests are starting, they didn’t get pardoned, and man are they pissed. Donald’s ears must be burning. New York Times:

Some Proud Boys became furious that Mr. Trump, who was impeached for inciting the insurrection, did not appear interested in issuing presidential pardons for their members who were arrested. In a Telegram post on Friday, they accused Mr. Trump of “instigating” the events at the Capitol, adding that he then “washed his hands of it.”

“They thought they had his support and that, ultimately, Trump would come through for them, including with a pardon if they should need it,” said Jared Holt, a visiting research fellow at the Atlantic Council’s DFR Lab. “Now they realize they went too far in the riots.”

They were following their Emperor God, and disillusionment is a bitter cup to drink from.

The disappointment was immediately palpable. One Proud Boys Telegram channel posted: “It really is important for us all to see how much Trump betrayed his supporters this week. We are nationalists 1st and always. Trump was just a man and as it turns out an extraordinarily weak one at the end.”

“Just a man” — and not a deity? The hell you say? Really? Mango Mussolini doesn’t have a cape or a utility belt or fly? Nothing?

In a Nov. 8 post in a private channel of the messaging app Telegram, the group urged its followers to attend protests against an election that it said had been fraudulently stolen from Mr. Trump. “Hail Emperor Trump,” the Proud Boys wrote.

But by this week, the group’s attitude toward Mr. Trump had changed. “Trump will go down as a total failure,” the Proud Boys said in the same Telegram channel on Monday.

As Mr. Trump departed the White House on Wednesday, the Proud Boys, once among his staunchest supporters, have also started leaving his side. In dozens of conversations on social media sites like Gab and Telegram, members of the group have begun calling Mr. Trump a “shill” and “extraordinarily weak,” according to messages reviewed by The New York Times. They have also urged supporters to stop attending rallies and protests held for Mr. Trump or the Republican Party.

A ‘shill?” A “total failure?” Oh, how sharper than a serpent’s tooth is an ungrateful follower. Forsooth, we swoon at these slings and arrows.

The comments are a startling turn for the Proud Boys, which for years had backed Mr. Trump and promoted political violence. Led by Enrique Tarrio, many of its thousands of members were such die-hard fans of Mr. Trump that they offered to serve as his private militia and celebrated after he told them in a presidential debate last year to “stand back and stand by.” On Jan. 6, some Proud Boys members stormed the U.S. Capitol.

But since then, discontent with Mr. Trump, who later condemned the violence, has boiled over. On social media, Proud Boys participants have complained about his willingness to leave office and said his disavowal of the Capitol rampage was an act of betrayal. And Mr. Trump, cut off on Facebook and Twitter, has been unable to talk directly to them to soothe their concerns or issue new rallying cries.

No, the Marmalade Mental Midget is at Mar-a-Lago and he doesn’t care. He’s trying to figure out how to pay his own legal costs and stay out of the slammer. You think he’s got time for your legal troubles? Oh, puh-leeze. But they believed him at the rallies, the claims he would pay their legal bills, all of it. And now they have completed several units in the School of Hard Knocks and prison should earn them a Ph.D.

Last week, Nicholas Fuentes, the leader of America First, wrote in his Telegram channel that Mr. Trump’s response to the Capitol rampage was “very weak and flaccid” and added, “Not the same guy that ran in 2015.”

Ouch. “Flaccid?” Like meaning a limp dick? They’re starting to catch on. It’s taken quite a while, but they’re starting to get it.

Odd how America is divided these days. It’s not about urban v. rural nor Republican v. Democrat. No. The cultural Rorschach test is this: some people saw Trump for who and what he was and some people bought into the scam. It really is as simple as that. The reasons why it happened that way are not simple and psychologists, sociologists and historians will be figuring this out for many years to come. But that is what happened. There were those who saw the truth and those who believed the bullshit. And then along came the GOP enablers and you know the rest.

  1. Can I nick name him (Jim Jones II) Just be careful Of the Koolade… I heard it was tough to suck down the first time… Oh But After that your dreams will be forefilled and life will be happy ever after in “Trump World””” Stupid F—king Idiots…

    • It’s amazing how easy it is to start a cult. I knew that Trump had a lot of visibility, obviously, from his TV show. But the idea that people believed that he was the character on TV has always blown me away. But then again, with Fox News and the GOP singing the same song, it does get more believable.

      • Not hard to believe at all, Ursula. The one thing folks like Christopher Hitchens and Bill Maher never understood is that there are certain emotional realities secularism ignores. It leaves the barn door wide open for the kind of foolishness we’ve seen with Christian fundies, QAnon and white supremacists. Just have a good enough pitch and a lot of suckers will follow you without a second thought.

      • I like your point about the enablers. I think them, plus his ability to lie as long as he’s breathing is what made the con work. And as you say, we’re now divided into two groups, the ones who saw it a mile away and the ones who swallowed hook, line and sinker.
“Never give a sucker an even break.”

    • We’re going to see more arrests, indictments, all of it. This is just beginning. Things calmed down for a few days because of the Inauguration, but things are going to get ugly fast, from all the signs that I see.

      • There are going to have to be expulsions. The Republicans
are all , “Whaaa, you preached Unity and the first day and then you wrote an EO that is a slap in the face. .”. Joe Biden has been abundantly clear about the fact that people committed sedition. He’s also been clear that the country won’t heal unless we come together. He also wants justice. No justice, no piece. But fascists sole mode is the eternal victim. So you can’t rely on these Republicans to put two and two together. He’s going to have to tell them the connect-the-dots version. Unity doesn’t mean that we all decide to just make the peace and adopt a traitorous lifestyle.

Here’s what I think a major reason. A lot of the people, probably the majority, thought they were being very clever when they figured out: He may be a son-of-a-bitch, but he’s OUR son-of-a-bitch. What they didn’t realize was, no, he’s just a son of a bitch, period.

They figured that a holy SOB like that must be sent straight from heaven above, because he was going to get them everything that heaven supposedly promised them. But this is the oldest story in the world, and you really have to wonder why such supposedly religious people completely missed it: The Devil shows up one day and says, “Just sign your name (in blood) right here, and you can have everything you ever dreamed of.” And he delivered. So they worshiped him, which was always his plan for success. But we know how this story always turns out.

Now the question is, why did the Devil call on these particular people? Because he knew his path to them had already been cleared by many smaller devils. He knew what these rubes did not: that the promises they thought were from heaven were not from heaven at all, but from the other place.

    • He absolutely could not have gotten where he got without smaller devils clearing the way. That’s true. He had plenty of help. Whatever he did, he didn’t do any of it alone.

    • Moral of the story: the Devil will give you what you asked for but never what you need nor in the form you expect. “See, the devil don’t care what you need or want,/It’s just Devil, Deed, Denouement.”–Matt Wagner

  3. And Trump at Marma-Lago is laughing at these jerks. He stole their money, he played them into attacking the Capitol, and he tossed them under the bus when the coup didn’t work out. All in a day’s work for Donnie, and he’s done it day-in and day-out for a lifetime.

    • He’s most likely not thinking of them as big jokes. He hates their guts or he will when his gloom passes. He’s a Machiavellian and they failed him. They didn’t overthrow the vote. He’s not laughing because getting over on them was not the point. The point was his average delusional thinking that he was going to be sheltered from arrest by staying in office.

  4. They could help themselves by telling all to the investigators: the FBI, the states, the court. Hand over evidence, and get themselves a little justice.

  5. Eff with the bull, get the horns. These would-be revolutionaries are an embarrassment to the human race on every level. They should be grateful to still be alive. Other countries are far less understanding about attempted insurgency.
