As I was writing the previous article, out of nowhere I was reminded of one of my favorite old time adages, You can’t rape the willing. Which almost immediately triggered another old favorite, Just how stupid can a person be?! Those two thoughts planted the fertile seeds of an article in the barren ground of my fevered mind, and here we are.
From the time that he farted his way down that rattletrap escalator in Trump Tower to excoriate immigrants while he proudly announced his 2016 candidacy in front of a paid crowd of wanna be actors, Trump has treated his base supporters like f*cking morons. His claptrap racist populism was carefully designed to sing to the undereducated masses who had fallen out of the political system. And they responded like performing seals.
Trump was their Messiah. He said out loud into the microphones what they all wanted to say at work, or in the bar on Friday night. And while Traitor Tot touted his incredible wealthy, claiming that he didn’t need big money donors to run, because he was rich, the sheeple nevertheless donated money at a pace that kept his fortune intact. Trump rode that groundswell of undereducated, lower income, disgruntled voters to the White House in 2016.
But almost immediately, the wheels started falling off of the bus. In modern America, nobody believes politicians. They fall for the lines, but once elected they expect the politician to turn into just another selfish, self centered politician.
But Traitor Tot turned out to be a horse of a different color. The silly sh*t actually tried to carry out the insane policies that the base thought was just rhetorical political bullsh*t. The first law that His Lowness signed gave congenital mental defectives the right to purchase semi automatic weapons. Then he tried to ban Muslims from entering the country. Then he started separating migrant parents from their children, and even toddlers and infants at the southern border. But don’t blame Trump, he was only doing what he promised to do.
The backlash was immediate. In 2018 the Democrats flipped 40 seats in the House, and retook the chamber. But here’s the critical thing to remember. It wasn’t just disgruntled Democrats, Bernie Bros, and independents who showed up to slap his d*ck down, there were millions of non Trombie base Trump supporters who saw the writing on the wall. Trump wasn’t just another politician, he was a nihilist. And they quickly tired of Trump’s insane, perverse habit of governing by tweet.
But that didn’t deter El Pendejo Presidente. He declared a disastrous trade war with China, demolishing the coastal seafood industry, and started rolling back civil rights by violating the rights of peaceful protesters. The backlash returned, and he lost the 2020 election by some 8 million votes.
Here’s my point. If you want to get a grip on the 2024 election, and Trump’s chances, you have to learn the difference between Trump’s hard core Trombie base, and the larger, softer base of Trump supporters who put him over the top in 2016. because that larger, softer base of Trump supporters have shown time and time again that they have lines in the sand that will turn them away.
Which brings us to now. Because while current polling shows that Trump’s die hard base is loyal, that soft core is turning against him. Easy proof is the $50 million ad buy from Republicans Against Trump that ran an ad of some 100 loyal 2016 and 2020 Trump supporters who will not vote for him again, and taped snippets saying why. After 72 hours, they were up to 120 videos. But the important thing is that more Trump degenerates, the more soft core supporters will turn away from him. For the simple reason that because they may be rather silly, or vulnerable, and while they may fall for bullsh*t, they’re not morons! And they’ve been proving that for six long years now, as they steadily jump ship from the SS Trumptanic.
From 2015 Trump has been marketing himself as a self made multibillionaire. So the simple question begs why should he be almost constantly mooching for supporters for funding for the campaign, and more recently for his legal defense fund against the deep state lawsuits and indictments? On a long, disjointed, rambling speech in Ohio on Saturday, Trautor Tot in two sentences proclaimed that the legal actions against him were first a communist conspiracy, and then a fascist conspiracy. Which is it, since the two ideologies are polar opposite?
Remember the difference between rock solid Trombie supporters and soft core Trump supporters. Trump supporters are not locked into OAN, NewsMax and FUX News, they get news from other sources as well. And that begs the question.
Trump’s lawyers argued in court today, as was widely reported that Traitor Tot doesn’t have the coin to come up with $455 million bond to appeal the NY civil fraud suit. The question is, Why not? Hell, the guys is worth $8 billion, with a self professed $450 million slush fund for emergencies. And if this isn’t an emergency, then what the hell is?
Non Trombie Trump supporters may be slow, but they’ve shown over and over again for three straight election cycles that they’re not bone stupid. And even bone stupid voters with access to outside information can realize when they’re getting their crank yanked. My prediction? As this NY civil fraud case winds its way to its inevitable conclusion, more soft Trump supporters are going to have that moment of clarity, and have a Come to Jesus moment.

Murf, you say the original, 2016 trump supporters aren’t morons; aren’t they? In 2015/2016 the proof that he was not what he claimed to be was out there-certainly all of us who read D.K., P.Z., The Nation, Mother Jones, etc. knew it but so would those who read the NYT and other news sources. The nation was told he only kept himself out of the poorhouse due to his father’s constant infusions of millions, the inheritance he received upon his father’s demise, his crooked accountants & attorneys, and eventually that asinine t.v. show which was only offered to him because he provided the illusion of being a businessman (they needed someone who had a recognizable name but who also needed the money): none of this screams, hell even whispers, successful businessman and that was trump’s calling card. When the truth knocks you upside the head numerous times and you still ignore it and fall for what amounts to a piss-poor scam, isn’t that the definition of “moron”?
The 2016 trump supporters may or may not support him again–this depends on their memories which are mighty short things in morons. Fear would help but these folks did not raise a ruckus when incompetents like beer bong and the vagina were placed on the s.c. bench and that right there says they were not afraid of rampant stupidity making judgements that affects the entire nation.
I hope you’re right Murf but I see stupid people everywhere and more than that, I see a vast unwillingness to correct the stupidity. That hasn’t changed since 2015/2016.
What I see is a guy who never thought past January 6, 2021 and is inevitable departure from the WH.
When tramp ordered the Proud Boys and the Oath Keepers to storm the capital, he ordered for their arrest unknowingly.
Now, 3 years later, he is in the same position. He knows he is going to lose in November and now, since his domestic terrorists are incarcerated for decades, he has no army.

So, now he’s upped the “hostages” and “absolute patriot” remarks about those that were caught storming the capital, caught harming Capital Police, caught breaking into offices, plead guilty and sent to the can for decades.
He’s trying to send them a message that he still “loves you, and thinks you’re very special”, and makes promises that they will all be exonerated, released, and celebrated by the same individual that put them there.
It’s all a farce to benefit himself as usual. The prisoners hear him, and celebrate him and his narcissism is fed for another day.
He has no path for victory, he has no army to fight his battles, he has no resources, no clothes that isn’t made in GHINA!!!
He doesn’t need an army.He needs lone wolves and the idiot militias can provide a lot of cannon fodder. Plenty of info.is available on the net about how to build IEDs,,and bomb sniffing dogs can’t be everywhere. Rank and file Dems in the House and the Senate and state houses don’t get federal security personnel–and even if the F.B.I. could do so, a lot of them sympathize with Trump and the “patriots” of 1/6, according to emails Bloomberg news got through the FOIA.
And personal round the clock security is damned expensive. If the rank can’t get to politicians, they will.go.after their family members. I give you what happened to Paul.Pelosi.
Sure some Dems protested at the Tuck F*ck’s house and damaged his front door, but no one put a bomb in his car or pointed a gun at him or threw a grenade through his front window. Because we just don’t do that. But the other side does.
