We have predicted here for some time that Pete Hegseth will be the first major piece to fall when this chess game from Hell that Donald Trump calls an administration finally starts to collapse. We’re not alone in that opinion. Ron Filipkowski has another idea. He believes that Kash Patel will be hitting the road in January. I don’t know if I concur with that at all but it is an interesting theory. I don’t think Patel wants to leave of his own accord. But Lev Parnas has an idea which is worth considering. He thinks Dan Bongino is the guy who’s going to flip the board over and that that will also be in January.
My sources are telling me that Bongino is making plans to quietly step away and reposition himself — to create distance from Trump World and from some of the darkest chapters that are still sitting in the shadows, including the Epstein universe and the people around it.
I’m being told he’s looking at January as a target to start that exit — not because he suddenly found a conscience or a heart, but because he sees the writing on the wall. He can see the polls. He can see that Trump is likely to lose the next round of elections — and that accountability is coming for the people who helped build and protect this corrupt machine.
Bongino is not on the same page as Trump anymore, and inside the camp, they all know it.
He’s been clashing with people like Susie Wiles, Pam Bondi, and others in that inner circle. Those are not just random names — those are some of the most loyal enforcers and message-carriers in Trump’s world. They are all-in. They are ride-or-die. They are so deep in, they don’t see a way out.
Bongino is different from them — and I’m not saying that because he’s a “good guy.” I’m saying it because his calculation is different. While others double down and wrap themselves tighter in the cult, he’s looking for an escape hatch.
People like Kash Patel, Pam Bondi, Pete Hegseth and that whole crew are, in my opinion, fully cult-ized and conspiracy-ized. They’re all in on the lies, the cover stories, and the spin. Their entire future is tied to Trump never facing real accountability. If he goes down, their world collapses.
Bongino, I’m told, understands that if this thing cracks open — if the Epstein-related information and the rest of the buried files around Trump World ever see full daylight — the people closest to it are going to be forced to pick a side: keep covering it up, or finally start talking.
This is plausible. Bongino is possibly the only person in Trump world who has been forthcoming about the fact that he’s in over his head — although he hasn’t put it like that. The way he’s put it has been to complain about being “in the office all day, staring at the four walls.” He doesn’t like the job of Deputy FBI Director. It’s work, exacting meticulous work. He doesn’t know how to do it and he hates it, understandably.
Bongino has also spoken longingly of his days on the air as a conspiracy theorist. That was when he was in his element. He sounds like he longs to go back and indeed that is probably his prime motivating factor. Bongino’s looking at the big picture of the rest of his life.
Think about it: if Bongino waits too long to leave and go back to podcasting, then he’s going to lose his advantage in that field. The entire gag is to blame the Biden and Obama administrations for everything. If Bongino is only with the FBI a year and leaves, then he can plausibly talk about Biden-this and Biden-that, which he “discovered” when working for the FBI. But if he’s there for the full four years of Trump and then goes back to podcasting, what will his material be then?
This is a plausible idea. This isn’t off the walls, given what Bongino has already said about how unfulfilling his job is and how much he misses his old show. Plus, if he leaves after only a year, saying he “owed it to the American people” to return to the airwaves and share all the dirt he’s discovered about Biden, Obama and the Deep State, then he’ll have lots of material and Trump might even back this play because it would suit Trump’s agenda.
Bongino could do conspiracy theory on steroids, using his one-year perch in the FBI to validate and substantiate whatever fantasy comes out of his mouth. He could start talking about space aliens from Area 51 living with the Obamas and say he found it all at the FBI. It makes total sense to me that Bongino might be thinking along these lines. Maybe Parnas is onto something.
And once the first piece falls, Trump may very well decide to clean house. Or people like Russ Vought and Stephen Miller may decide it’s time to clean house. Susie Wiles doubtlessly has some people she would like to see gone.
And maybe Ron Filipkowski will be right and Kash Patel will be gone as well, and there could be a cascade of firings. None of this would be surprising. Anything goes in Trump world. And Trump won’t care. He’s too busy binge posting and sleeping. He’s gotten what he wants. Jared is making business deals with Vladimir, he’s not in prison and he golfs all the time. Life is good for Trump.

Life is good for Trump, and the grift goes on, and the grift goes on. (to the tune of And the Beat Goes On)
