A little earlier tonight I wrote an article about the Democrats having been gifted their natural campaign slogan and bumper sticker, They’re just weird. The beauty of it is that that’s something that everybody has been thinking to themselves about MAGA all along.

In my comments, a couple of readers took gentle exception to my suggestion, feeling that something a little more serious and dire was needed, since everybody was already inoculated to the constant, pervasive weird about the MAGA movement. That started me thinking, and I realized that we were both right.

First let me say one thing. In the game of politics, just as in the advertising game, there is one basic rule, Simple works. Give them a simple jingle that they don’t have to think about, and it tends to stick. so my thesis is likely to be effective.

On the other hand, Traitor Tot has been saying insane sh*t ever since he farted his way down that schlock, rattletrap escalator in Trump Tower. And he’s never stopped because of another simple principle, Hide the forest in the trees. Keep up a steady stream of bullsh*t, and sooner or later everybody is drowning in it.

And his larval MAGA mob in congress, as well as soulless sycophants twigged to that in a hurry, and just as quickly came up with a baby food excuse for it. Whenever Traitor Tot said something insane or politically damaging, MAGA damage control immediately sprang into action. When asked in front of a camera about Trump’s latest drivel, the response was basically identical, Aww, come on, that’s just Trump being Trump. Nobody actually believes that sh*t. And even if Trump believes it, nobody else in Washington does. It’s going nowhere.

And that’s when America basically became Brigadoon. Like the legendary tale, sweetly lulled by the soft, gentle sirens song of nonstop bullsh*t, the normal population slipped into a deep eight year slumber, being roused by no flapping warning flags.

And that’s exactly what the bright, shiny Kamala Harris alarm clock has to do, along with every one of her surrogates. Because right now she and her surrogates have pretty much uncontested control of the media airwaves, with the DNC coming in three weeks. And the prosecution she and her surrogates have to do is not just on Trump’s criminal history, but also on the MAGA GOP’s criminal history of absolute bullsh*t.

Take the whole f*cking mob of misfit toys to the woodshed. From now until election day, we have to wake up and educate the sleeping masses that, whatever the GOP sycophants said, it wasn’t just Trump billsh*t. Don’t just prosecute Don Cornholeone, prosecute the Capos and Soldiers as well;

  • If, as his GOP minions claim, it was all just Trump bullsh*t, why did Trump sign an Executive Order banning travelers from seven majority Muslim nations entry to the United States?
  • If, as his GOP minions claim, it was all just Trump vullsh*t, why did Trump sign an order separating immigrant infants and minors from their parents at the southern border, with no plan to reunite them?
  • If, as his GOP’s minions claim, it was all Trump bullsh*t, why did Trump dispatch federal officers to American cities to abuse the civil rights of peaceful protesters following the death of George Floyd?
  • If, as his GOP minions claim, it was all just Trump bullsh*t, why did Trump send horse patrols and armed National Guard troops into Lafayette Park to use truncheons and tear gas to disperce peaceful, unarmed protesters so he could hold a f*cked up photo op?
  • If, as his GOP minions claim, it was all Trump bullsh*t, why did Trump try to activate The Insurrection act, trying to put armed US soldiers into the streets of American cities to quell peaceful protests by any means necessary?
  • If, as his GOP minions claim, it was all Trump bullsh*t, why did Trump use an Ellipse speech to incite a ragtag mob of partially armed goons to storm the Capitol on January 6th to try to stop the certification of votes, allowing him to remain in power?

The list goes on and on, but you get my drift. It isn’t enough to simply prosecute the case against Trump for his criminal behavior, and not enough only to prosecute the case against Trump for his fascist tendencies. As with the Nuremburg trials, it is required to hold the Colonels and Captains and Sargent’s accountable, not only for the excesses, but for spouting a nonstop fire hose of bullsh*t to cover Trump’s actual intentions from the people they allegedly swore an oath to serve, and who pay their salaries.

Don’t just cut the head off, sever all the snakes from the head of the Hydra. Properly done, the Democrats can use this Nuremberg prosecution to give Democratic candidates all down the ballot ample ammunition to use against their opponents. But with 99 days to go, we can’t let the Denizens of the American Brigadoon reach out from the covers and hit the Snooze button.

I thank you for the privilege of your time.

  1. And if it was all just Trump bullshit, how is it that the Supreme Court is dismantling the rule of law, having transformed itself into a make-it-up-as-you-go-along Get Out of Jail Free card for Trump?

    • True. While it was, factually, Moscow Mitch McConnell who did 2 of the 3 in cahoots with Father Time, Beer Bret stood out alone for the practice of boofing real investigation and, uhm, truthiness. Thanks, Mitch, for all you’ve done to make this make it all up as you go court the infamous bunch of toadies they are. THEY now get to review everything! Presidential immunity? Yes. Specialty agency technical decisions? Yup. The courts were designed to interpret laws, NOT to make them. There’s more to fix here than term limits, but the only way to repair the true damage these dolts have done is to re-read Sotomayor, Kagan and Jackson’s dissent in the immunity case, and just wait for Smith’s appeal to Cannon’s travesty dismissal.

It might help to read up on Roosevelt’s court packing issues from the 1930s. I recall it was more than just his dismay about decisions going against his New Deal, the conservatives back then were just as brain dead and nasty . Same with Taney, but they got the Civil War Amendments passed without the southern states before they were readmitted. Now the Roberts Court ignores the 14th Amendment, Section 3. How convenient…

  2. Alternate between Trump and Vance’s crazier, nuttier than a fruitcake utterances and the more dangerous “policy” claims. Hit them.in both balls,so you cannot simply dismiss it as a joke. Sure, they’re weird, but they are also dead serious about taking away women’s rights to control.their bodies, ending no fault divorce and just because the wife is being beaten doesn’t mean the marriage should end, force childless couples, and single people to pay more in taxes, when they use far fewer resources, and logically should be paying less… And toss in “crazy cat lady” statements with Taylor Swift, a self made billionaire courtesy of her talents, with her cats… Mock them but warn that these two scenic is are dead serious about what seem at first glance to be only eye rolling bad hokez.
