The nation is already depressed, but Ted Cruz has done the impossible. He has given our depression a depression. He has taken an already horrific subject, made more horrific by two mass shootings in one week, eight dead in Atlanta and ten dead in Boulder, and he’s found a way to make it worse by suggesting that if Antifa showed up in Houston, the armed citizenry of that city would show them a thing or two and blow them away — and that’s a good thing.

Ted Cruz has laudable academic credentials but the man is a complete idiot.
But if he wants to kill Antifa, okay. How about we start with this guy? I mean, he’s a card carrying member, this should entitle him to get blown away first, right?
Look at the date on the card, the day after Pearl Harbor. But Ted Cruz would have you believe that Dwight Eisenhower is the enemy and fascism is a good thing, right, because the anti-fascists are the ones that are going to get blown away when they start raiding homes in Houston.

It kind of goes along with Chip Roy’s comments about ropes and hangings in Texas. It makes living here a bit of an embarrassment, but then I remember Ron Johnson from my home state of Wisconsin and I realize the idiots are everywhere. Apparently no language is too incendiary for their taste.

Someone should point out that the Eisenhower Antifa card is of course fake. “Antifa” as a term did not exist in his day, and there was no such entity as the “Global Antifacism Initiative.” While the card may be fake, the sentiment is accurate, and that is the point.

If there was such a thing as Antifa, an anti-fascist organization, every true American should want to be a member! History teaches us that fascism always leads to very bad things happening. Since there’s no organized group with members called “Antifa,” he’s proposing killing people for IDEAS. And that, my friends, is the fascism many are rising up against. What a friggin’ dishonest tool he is.
There are a few organized groups but, nothing like at all the all-pervasive organization the right claims. This group even has a website: https://rosecityantifa.org/ As usual, the right wants it both ways. They want antifa to be a national organization, but if it were it would sound like Rose City https://www.wweek.com/news/city/2021/02/02/rose-city-antifa-distances-itself-from-protesters-who-smashed-windows-vandalized-property/ whose responsible messaging is useless for the right’s purposes. So the right simultaneously want antifa to be largely unorganized thugs they can blame for everything.
Antifa is now the same thing as “bogeyman” for about half the country. (I’d rather have them in my neighborhood than the people the GQP loves so much.)

I think the 2nd Amendment should be gone. This Amendment has made this country dangerous.
