This is a different breed of Trump, and that’s not good news going into 2024. Because this is not the Trump that the slobbering Trombies are used to.
Trump has clearly lost his mojo. And I’m not saying that just as a personal opinion, or as a way to make us all feel better. I’m saying that as somebody who has been intimately in Trump’s for some eight years now, and the deterioration I see is stunning.
For instance. From the day he farted his way down that schlock gilt escalator at his gilt birdcage in 5th Avenue, Trump has always been at his best when he is unfettered and unchained. Frome his time on the lamentably banal The Apprentice, Trump is best when he shoots from the lip.
Here’s what you have to remember about Trump. The man is, purely by his nature, a virulent racist, a prolific sexist, and a flagrant xenophobe and homophobe. And as such, he most thrills his rabid, slobbering, racist and sexist base when he’s just letting the bullsh*t fly.
And back in the campaign of 2015-2016, Trump had something at least resembling self control, I’ll give him that. Traitor Tot’s rallies with him onstage tended to last about an hour. But like that fat tub of sh*t before him, Rush Limbaugh, Trump had a master plan. He went into the rally knowing what would turn his audience on, and he provided it until it waw time to turn it off.
That’s not the case anymore. Trump’s rallies in 2019-2020, as his poll numbers sank, and with the Covid-19 pandemic on his shoulders grew worse, so did Trump’s self control. Trump angrily demanded that he continue to hold mass rallies in the middle of the pandemic, and then screamed at the fact that the campaign put up ceiling to floor curtains trying to hide the fact that the stadium wasn’t even half full. But his self congrol was slipping, since he expanded his rally speech to almost 90 minutes to try to squeeze out every last drop of ego fulfilling applause.
And here we are in 2023, and Traitor Tot’s life is so much worse. He lost in 2020, and here he is in 2023, actually having to campaign against other Republicans, instead of being named Prince apparent by popular acclamation. And Trump continues to devolve.
This is not the 2016 Trump, for oh so many reasons. For starters, his air of invincibility is gone. He’s a loser. And worse yet, the government he once led is now braying for his blood for leading a violent insurrection against the very government he himself led. And there are multiple staters moving to bar his name from their ballots in 2024 under the 14th Amendment.
Trump is unhinged, but he also has a problem. He has not only one, but two standing gag orders against him, one from the NY state judge hearing his civil company fraud case, and another from DC federal judge Tanya Chutkan in his DC case. Trump has been dipping his toed aver the line at every corner, but appellate courts have upheld the gag orders, and both judges have made it clear that they’re licking their chops to hold him to account.
And as a result Traitor Tot has had to switch strategies on the campaign trail. I have seen significant stretches of two recent rally speeches, and it looks to me that Trump is back on a teleprompter. It’s obvious if you know what to look for. Trump never used a teleprompter before 2016, and he sucks at it.
Especially now. He used to be able to turn his head from side to side to follow the words, but now he literally leans his head, like a dog hearing his masters voice while he reads from one screen only. And worse yet, whether his eyes are going bad and he refuses to wear glasses, or he is losing his cognitive skills, Trump is having more and more trouble actually reading the text on the screen, leading to awkward pauses in his delivery.
And worse yet, Trump’s degeneration is costing him acolytes. Where his rally blather once went about an hour, as the walls close in around him, his rally speeches are now running close to 2:30 per effort. And according to reporters covering Trump’s rallies, it isn’t much past the hour mark before the arena starts emptying out. And by the time he finally finishes blathering, the arena has about 1/2 half of the crowd that he started with.
Trump is a man beset by gnats. He wants nothing more than to vent his spleen against his myriad of oppressors, yet his campaign muzzles him from railing against the judges that could put him in the hurt locker. And while he runs, the specter of endless weeks or months spent in a courtroom while he should be running for his loife haunts him. Sucks to be El Pendejo Presidente, doesn’t it?

As for “spell check,” please, kindly take a flying leap into a pile of bricks. That may sound bad–maybe even insulting –but, here’s the deal: Wan yew rely on Spiel Czech, their are always wrecks that kin crews the pouch. Note that EVERY SINGLE WORD in that sentence is valid so a spell check program will NOT detect an error (the correct form of that sentence would be “When you rely on Spell Check, there are always risks that can screw the pooch”). Spell check doesn’t know what you INTENDED to write (or two right) so correctly spelled words will still fall between the cracks.
Murf does his best, and longtime visitors to the site know that. We also know his issues and we are willing to muddle through his occasional errors. If you’re able to get the gist of his observations–even with his errors–then he’s done his job.
He’s a one trick pony. I agree wholeheartedly…the man is a “virulent racist”. Some seem to think Nikki can wholeheartedly support him, deny slavery was the cause of the Civil War, sing praises about the confederate flag, and NOT also be a racist. DUH?
