This is quite a confab going on down on the southern border. Ted Cruz did a piece early this morning, talking about how he was at the scene of a “humanitarian crisis” with thousands of immigrants pouring across the Rio Grande, women and children sleeping on the floors of huts or something but all you could see on camera was weeds. Then Tom Cotton arrived at this war zone, wearing a Polo shirt. But my favorite, hands down, is Steve Daines, doing a riff right out of a Breaking Bad script, about how great it was in Montana, back in the day, when men were men and meth was meth.

Made in America meth is where it’s at. No more outsourcing of meth manufacturing jobs to Mexico.

  1. I lived in a town where a guy massacred his best friend. He was on the run for 3 days. He’s incarcerated in Walla Walla now. He killed his best friend while he was on meth.

  2. So, how many folks who were arrested and imprisoned in Montana for making and/or using meth are going to be contacting attorneys seeking to have their arrests AND convictions overturned because a sitting US Senator actually ENDORSED “home-grown” meth as a good thing compared to drugs coming from Mexico?

And, I’m guessing Sen Daines doesn’t really know how meth comes about. He must be confusing it with his apparent drug of choice–marijuana (which IS “grown”). Of course, he could be discussing tobacco (which IS, legally and medically speaking, a drug) or possibly cocaine or heroin (both of which are derived from plants, thus “grown,” but need further refinement and processing to be used–or abused).

  3. Daines is sitting in the one place in the US where that could be fixed. (It’s called “making laws”, Senator, and it’s *your* *job*.)

  4. We were walking on…High Meth…
Old times there we never forget…
Those fertile fields were never far away…

Leaving it off was the hardest thing we ever faced.

  5. So there’s a flood of Mexican heroin that’s SUDDENLY coming into Montana? Where did they get it before? Was it homegrown too? Or the vast poppy fields of Wyoming?
I so hate it when folks who know nearly nothing of a subject open their mouths about it. And just from my observation, it looks like the GQP in Congress leans heavily that way, whereas the Dems seem well equipped with persons of intelligence. The list only starts with Katie Porter, AOC, Adam Schiff.
