Fellow diners aren’t chanting shame at Ted Lieu, nor are bartenders chasing him into the street and flipping him off. Rather, restauranteurs are thanking him and comping him as well.
My experience at restaurants: I ordered take out at a Greek restaurant. When I arrived, the owner saw me & threw in a free baklava (one of my favorite desserts). He said he appreciated what I was doing. I guess that's what happens when one opposes ripping kids away from parents.

Maxine Waters extolled people to peacefully protest members of Trump’s cabinet and it looks like people are doing what’s right all of their own accord.
“If you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd and you push back on them, and you tell them they’re not welcome anymore, anywhere,” Waters said.
Both Speaker Paul D. Ryan of Wisconsin and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of California criticized Waters for her comments, and Chuck Schumer drew fire for implying that Waters was “un-American.”
Maxine Waters later received death threats and was forced to cancel events in Texas and Alabama but she’s still out there fighting the good fight. So is Ted Lieu.
