Absolutely no one was eating their pets but the Griot, Fried Red Snapper, Plantain and Spaghetti with Chicken was being consumed in vast quantities yesterday as locals in Springfield, Ohio turned out to the Rose Goute Haitian Creole Restaurant in a delicious show of support for that Trump/Vance beleaguered community. No amount of hate speech will change the fact that Haitians are hard working and friendly people who were welcomed into Springfield, a city that was hard hit by the rust belt recession and the resultant flight of residents to more prosperous locations. From what I read on Yelp* about Rose Goute’s food many of yesterday’s diners will become repeat customers and add to the restaurant’s growing popularity!

“The Miami Valley community broke bread with the Haitian community in Springfield Friday. Hundreds showed up at a local Haitian-Creole restaurant, but said the impact goes much further than just a meal.

“I think of people that work hard,” said Springfield native, Mark Houseman.

“Springfield is diverse,” added dinner organizer, Steve McQueen.

“We’re actually a beautiful city,” said Terrance Crowe, another Springfield native…

… Houseman and Crowe were two of the many Springfield natives sharing a meal with their Haitian neighbors, showing them hate has no place in their city.

“You’ve got to bridge the gaps, tear down those mental fences,” stated Crowe. “We’re all human; we’re all in one race, the human race.”

What a nice display of decency this event was in the midst of all the Trump/Vance inspired insanity.

  3. 🥰 I’m a retiree on a small fixed income. I wish I could travel to maligned communities to lend support. But, I do what I can to tell people to see clearly what is in front of them! Example:
    📢 I don’t know how much louder I can speak this! Well-meaning (maybe) reporters and lawmakers have tried to calm the uproar over mass deportations by saying it won’t happen because there isn’t any infrastructure for it! That might (MIGHT) be comforting if you thought Trump’s mass deportation was a policy proposal. IT. IS. NOT! It is a permission slip for people to act like Brownshirts and Trumpen-juden!! Go ahead! Why wait?! You know the POC who moved in down the block are a dangerous infestation from foreign prisons and you need to rid them from your midst before they eat your children!! Does that sound like hyperbole? Yes, and it is the only language Trump speaks!! He wants his minions out there doing the “bloody” work for him!! And they show up!! 🤬 We must speak louder! Give Trumpers no quarter! Vote, dammit, vote! 🥵

  4. I guess I’m a little surprised. Pleasantly so but still surprised. I mean, after all, this is a state which put that ugly piece of garbage vance into the senate. These folks sound great-the kind I’d welcome into my neighborhood. I am so glad to see them standing up to the morons of our country. Good on them!
