Senators Conclude That bin Salman Guilty As Hell In Jamal Khashoggi’s Murder

What is Donald Trump going to do? Even members of his own party think that his new BFF Mohammad Bin Salman is a murderer, saying things like, “There’s no smoking gun. There’s a smoking saw,” after their meeting Tuesday with Gina Haspel. NPR:

After a briefing from CIA Director Gina Haspel, Senate leaders declared Tuesday they were convinced that Saudi Arabia’s crown prince was behind the killing of journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman “is a wrecking ball. I think he is complicit in the murder of Khashoggi in the highest possible level,” said Lindsey Graham, a South Carolina Republican.

Graham was just one of several senators who delivered blistering attacks on Saudi Arabia and the crown prince following the closed-door briefing. The Saudis have acknowledged that government officials were responsible for the killing but describe it as a rogue operation and say that the crown prince was not involved.

“Let me just put it this way. I think if (Crown Prince Mohammed) was in front of a jury, he would have a unanimous verdict in about 30 minutes. Guilty. A guilty verdict,” said Bob Corker, a Tennessee Republican.

Maybe Lindsey Graham is bi-polar, because he certainly seems to be flip flopping with respect to Trump, claiming one month, “There’ll be hell to pay,” if Trump fired Sessions and then switching out that opinion for the more Trump friendly, “He deserves an attorney general that he wants.”

“There’s not a smoking gun, there’s a smoking saw,” said Graham, referring to reports that Khashoggi’s body was dismembered by a bone saw after he was killed at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul, Turkey. “It is zero chance — zero — that this happened without the crown prince.”

Yeah, but, the Saudis buy a lot of apartments from Trump, and then there’s all those mythical jobs created by the kazillions of dollars the Saudis spend in arms. Plus, and here’s the biggy — Vlad likes MBS and he won’t like it at all if the United States maintains some kind of a profile in the field of human rights. No, he won’t like that one little bit.
