This is something that you don’t see every day. We are 42 days out from a general election. Mark Robinson is running for governor of North Carolina and as such has been getting ad buys from the Republican Governor’s Association. It’s certainly in their interest to see another Republican get elected governor, right? At least one would think so. But what happened instead is that the RGA has ceased buying ads. They were set up to buy another slate but they decided not to.

“We don’t comment on internal strategy or investment decisions, but we can confirm what’s public — our current media buy in North Carolina expires tomorrow, and no further placements have been made.”

Basic rule of politics: the last month or so of a campaign, watch the ground game. Because the powers that be in both parties are going to have to make decisions about where to put the money and where it won’t matter and evidently this race has been put in the lost cause column. How else to explain the RGA’s actions? I’m all ears if somebody’s got another theory.

CNN dropped its bombshell a few days ago, then on Sunday Robinson’s key campaign staffers all resigned en masse. Now it’s Monday and Robinson can go take a hike and find his own ad money, because the RGA isn’t giving him anymore. So he’s out in the cold. And he’s plenty pissed.

“We’re right in the process right now of forming a team that we know that can still lead us to victory,” Robinson said. “So, we have full confidence in our ability to keep going.”

CNN’s Dianne Gallagher pointed out that Robinson had denied he made remarks on the porn site, including calling himself a “Black Nazi” and defending slavery.

“We are in talks right now, everything up to legal counsel to take CNN to task for what they have done to us!” Robinson exclaimed. “We are going after them! We are going to go after them for what they have done!”

The candidate then attacked reporters for focusing on the explosive remarks.

“Think about what’s going on on the world stage, and this is what you choose to focus on!” he complained. “You’ve got these news cameras, news reporters, pens, pencils, your microphones. This is what you’re focused on?”

“You better understand, I am coming after CNN full throttle!” he shouted. “But we have got to put the people first.”

I’m sure the legal department at CNN is on the floor laughing right now. They’re probably asking, “What’s a legal way of telling Robinson to blow it out his dookey chute?” What a joke this guy is. That said, neither J.D. Vance nor Donald Trump has stepped forward to rescind their endorsement.

That is stupid. If they would throw Robinson to the wolves it might help their own standing in North Carolina. Or, maybe they fear Robinson’s wrath if they do. I have no idea. What we are watching here is the beginning of the the fall of the MAGA empire and conclusively the fall of Mark Robinson. Never did a creepier man deserve to wash out of public life.

  1. I bet that no legal action ever sees the light of day in this case. Just like his political daddy, Donold, he’s a lot of talk-mostly lies. Like someone pointed out the other day, you CANNOT get comments deleted from any website, if you didn’t make them.

  2. We need Robinson to stay on the ballot and it helps us that the RGA is no longer financing him. We know the RNC isn’t helping him either because all their money is going to Dumbty (thanks, Lara!) It is also a big help for us that Dumbty and Shady continue their endorsement. Anything that reduces them in the eyes of NC voters is very good news for Harris and Walz!

  3. How ironic, that a black man brings down the King of Racists! By the way donny…it’s infuriating for you to drag Dr. King into your fevered delusions. But, it appears that before you shit on someone, maybe check to see if they’re well connected with the Great Mystery,(Cheyenne), otherwise…go on down to the Little Bighorn General.

  4. he can bluster and threaten, but when someone offered to do forensics on his computer to “prove” someone else made those comments, he turned them down flat.
    truth is not defamation.
