The particulars of this incident are in dispute but it has now been confirmed that Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-Rated) was involved last night in a “physical altercation” with her ex-husband at the “Miner’s Claim,” a restaurant in her district in Silt, Colorado.

The Boeberts reportedly had a tense moment yesterday afternoon when Jason tried to hug Boebert when she was picking up their children at his house. Later Jayson called her to apologize and suggested they meet to hash things out the restaurant…

“On Saturday night, three years to the day after supporters of Donald Trump attacked the U.S. Capitol building, election objecting Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) is the subject of an active police investigation into an alleged physical altercation with her ex-husband, Jayson Boebert, at a restaurant in her district Saturday night.

The Silt Police Department confirmed an “active investigation” in a phone call Saturday night, but would not comment further. A Boebert aide told The Daily Beast that no one was arrested.

According to the aide, on Saturday, Jayson Boebert had called the police to the Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt, claiming that he was a “victim of domestic violence.” The aide emphasized that Lauren Boebert denies any allegation of domestic violence on her part, and that the events as depicted in social media posts on Saturday were not accurate.“

American Muckrakers, an anti-Boebert Twitter account, first broke the story on that site and reported that Lauren struck Jayson twice in the face.

No matter how this shakes out, the least one can say about it is that it was stupid beyond belief that Boebert, after the handsy incident earlier this year, and announcing her intention to switch districts in hopes of keeping her government cheese job, would allow herself to be in the position that she has to deny reports that she punched her husband in a public place.

But hey, nobody ever claimed she is the smartest cookie in the jar.

    • I’m guessing she thought this would “cancel out” her earlier “Love-fest.” Her supporters saw her “loving” a man in public, so she thought she’d even things out by punching another man in public, too. The logic is irrefutable: see, Cancel Culture can work for you, too. 🙂
