This happened in Wisconsin but it could have been any state in our union, as far down as norms of civility have plunged nationwide. The scenario you’re about to see involves a racist, who is proud that she’s a racist. We know that because she tells us so. She decides that a pair of Somalis are the “n” word and so she calls them that. They tell her she’s “ruining her life,” referring to the fact of her subsequently losing her job, or perhaps referring to the fact that she’s embarked down a dark path if she thinks lashing out at people with racial slurs is a cool way to be in the world. Why a young gal should be so consumed with hatred as to address a pair of strangers this way, in the scope of her job, is disturbing.

Two vibes here: One, our Karen is enjoying the shock value of all this. She knows it’s being recorded and so she’s playing for the camera and to the peanut gallery. Two, she’s a bully. She hates these people, calls the woman a “fucking ugly bitch.” All she had to do is serve these people a freaking cinnamon roll and take their money. That’s a quick transaction, it shouldn’t have to turn into a boxing match at Madison Square Garden.

The incident started when the Karen began making fun of the Somali woman’s hijab. So “she started it,” it looks like. And that’s sad. The Somali woman was keeping in line with her customs but maybe she’s rethinking that now. Not saying that she should HAVE to rethink that. I’m only thinking that if it was me, and I got bullied for wearing an article of clothing, a hijab or a yarmukle, (if I was a Jewish man) I would begin to wonder if hiding my culture would be the better part of valor if I wanted to survive in the world.

The Karen waiting on the customers at Cinnabon got fired. And immediately a crowd funding page went up, which has earned her $56K so far. This isn’t the first time a crowd funding page has rewarded bad behavior. Here’s where the facts get a little murky. I’ll show you what I have. The New York Post reports on a GiveSendGo page.

Following the fallout, a GiveSendGo page that raised thousands of dollars for the fired woman has since apparently been taken down.

A GoFundMe for her was also set up — raising more than $1,000 from 27 donors.

The incident comes as racial tensions have skyrocketed in Minnesota and Wisconsin against Somali immigrants following recent statements from President Trump, who slammed Somali immigrants as “garbage” who have “destroyed our country.”

The president’s remarks came in discussion with a COVID-19 fraud case, with White House Deputy Chief of Staff for policy Stephen Miller directly blaming Somali immigrants for the welfare scam totaling hundreds of millions of dollars.

So there were two crowd funding pages, on two different platforms, which earned over $57,000 for calling two Somalis the “n” word? That’s probably more money than she can make at Cinnabon in two years. So what is she going to do for an encore, can anybody guess?

I’m not even sure it should be legal to use crowd funding platforms for that kind of a problem. Medical bills, job loss, yes, but a job loss due to making racial slurs against one of the customers? I don’t think that should be covered.

But again, we see the same pattern:

  1. Trump called Somalis “garbage;”
  2. Ergo it must be okay to call Somalis that — and worse;
  3. Along comes a couple of Somalis and the MAGA Karen queen attacks them with racial slurs, while they’re buying a snack;
  4. MAGA rewards their Karen so I assure you, no lesson has been learned other than public racism pays big. This “hardworking white Mom” is probably trying to figure out what she can do next for an even bigger payday. Who knows, maybe we’re looking at the next Kyle Rittenhouse? He murdered two people from Kenosha, Wisconsin, even though he lived in Antioch, Illinois.

I personally don’t even want to know what she’s thinking or what would get a bigger payday for her. And I really don’t want to know about the kind of people who would see the tape we saw and decide, “What a great gal. What great actions she took. Let me see if I can dig deep and find a few bucks to help her out.”

Is this what America has become? Is this who were are in 2025?

Friends, I’m going to ask you if you have any spare change, too, but I’m not a Karen. Just a humble blogger attempting to chronicle the strange political doings of the day and age in which we live. It must be nice to get rich by being a sociopath. That’s not a price I’m willing to pay to get a nice chunk of change dropped in my lap. I’m only asking for whatever you can spare to run the website until we get closer to the November election and interest in politics waxes again. Thanks. Ursula

  1. Shame on those sites if they don’t return EVERY fucking dollar to the people who donated to that racist piece of shit. And those who control them need to take a hard look at their policies. It’s appalling we live in a country where people have to beg on such sites to pay medical bills, or recover from their home being destroyed by insurance screwing them if disaster strikes – or say ICE mistakenly conducts a raid and does thousands or tens of thousands in damage. Or some hard working person is unfairly fired.

    So in cases like that I’ve been thankful someone figured out a way to help – of course collecting a percentage for ‘administering’ the page of the person(s) asking for help. Alas, a case like this that brings in way more than it should have makes the owners of the site some money and they don’t care about the harm. They just want their fucking cut of the action.

    Maybe someone will create such a site that has a board that reviews all pages of people asking for help and only allows legitimate causes. And pointedly rejects people like this woman. I wouldn’t mind such a site taking enough to cover their expenses and ensure their own workers get decent pay and benefits but that’s it.

    • Actually, I think it’s more shameful if the sites returned any of that money to any of the racist donors. Both sites should, instead, take ALL of that money and donate it to a charity (personally, I can think of a few that it should go to but, realistically, I could accept it going to a more-or-less neutral charity like the Red Cross–or, given the fact the money was raised at the expense of a Somali couple, the Red Crescent which is just the Red Cross’s Muslim nation counterpart).

      But, the better thing is for those sites to put immediate restrictions on the types of things that crowdfunding can be used for. No one should be rewarded for their racist (or anti-Semitiic or homophobic/transphobic or misogynistic, etc) behavior.
