Let us give a hand to the father of propaganda and MAGA playwright, as it were, Joseph Goebbels. The man may have lived many decades before Donald Trump but he foresaw him and his behavior and recorded it in advance for posterity. Goebbels said, “Accuse the other side of doing that which you yourself are doing,” and so far we see Trump do exactly that. Today he accused Justin Trudeau of the damnedest thing. Trump is truly mad.
Trump is implying that Trudeau is going to prevent Canada from having elections somehow so that he can stay in power. No. Trudeau has no such intention. But Trump does and he’s projecting it onto Trudeau.
The same thing goes for Trump and Volodymr Zelensky. Trump has called Zelensky a “dictator” and asked Zelensky when he intends to hold an election. In both cases Trump is accusing the other leader of wrongfully hanging onto power and that is because Trump himself completely intends to do the same thing.
He “jokes” about having a third term, but it is no joke. That is fully his intention to stay on in office until he dies. He wants to be like Xi and Kim, in office for life, dictator for life.
When somebody tells you who they are, believe them the first time. Trump is in the White House for the duration. He has no intention of leaving under his own power. He intends to go out feet first. And that would be fine if he would die in office — between now and 2028. Maybe Mother Nature will see to that. But Trump believes he will live forever, a delusion common to tyrants, and he intends to stay in office way beyond the end of his constitutionally mandated second term.
And you saw the congressman who drafted a bill that Trump be allowed to stay in office for a third term, so it’s not like this is all his own original thinking. Au contraire, he’s got what’s left of the GOP behind him, terrified, along with his MAGA cult. And that is their plan.

Complete crap. Trudeau has tendered his resignation and a leadership contest is on to replace him. The election will likely be held near the end of April. The fentanyl issue is trump’s excuse for imposing sanctions. He’s using it because there is a provision in NAFTA 2.0 for the unilateral use of sanctions in circumstances of national security. Otherwise, his sanctions would be in breach of that “beautiful perfect” deal he negotiated in his first term, and he would have to go to congress to either renegotiate or void it.
