On Monday, demonstrators greeted Ivanka Trump outside a Syracuse, N.Y., school, protesting the treatment of migrant families who have been separated after crossing into the U.S. as part of the Trump administration’s “zero-tolerance” immigration policy.

Ivanka was making an appearance at the school for a discussion on workforce development programs but outside the school, protesters kept their focus on family separation. About 100 protesters were there – one participant walked around in an oversized President Trump costume with a sign reading “monster” hung around his neck and another had a giant inflatable chicken bearing a striking resemblance to the president, which has also been seen in previous protests. Other activists held signs including “No kids in cages,” and “What if it were your children?”
