It is wearing on him. Unlike many scandals of the past, Trump simply cannot get past this Epstein matter, and it is driving him, his White House team, and the GOP-controlled House mental, according to a new report in Politico. It really shouldn’t surprise anyone. Unlike so many other scandals, this one hits the heart of the fuel that drives MAGA – conspiracy theory, an effort to get back at “the man,” draining the swamp, and pounding on the hated Clintons. It all manifests itself in the perfect storm for Donald Trump. No amount of distraction is really working this time, and it has his team exasperated (Probably in having to deal with him and his distractions). It has also left the House running out of town lest the rebellion really take hold.

The report notes that this was supposed to be the summer in which Trump could take a victory lap over the “big beautiful bill,” the money received from NATO nations, and new tariff deals (however bad) in place. Instead, Trump faces the biggest scandal of either administration. This one eclipses Russia Russia Russia because it enrages MAGA, instead of fueling the base’s psyche. It has Trump steaming

“POTUS is clearly furious,” said a person close to the White House, who, like others in this story, was granted anonymity to discuss the mood inside the West Wing. “It’s the first time I’ve seen them sort of paralyzed. He feels there are way bigger stories that deserve attention,” the senior White House official said.

Yeah. Well, clots and prayers. Pay close attention to the note that many staffers feel paralyzed; that is almost surely new for this group who are used to attacking back with all the might they have. On this matter, though, some might feel a little bit offended, what with working for a teen rapist – seemingly. Given the likely reality that Trump does appear in the files, it is very possible that some of them simply don’t want to be caught taking a side that they’ll regret.
A senior White House official told POLITICO the president is frustrated with his staff’s inability to tamp down conspiracy theories they once spread and by the wall of media coverage that started when Attorney General Pam Bondi released information from the Epstein case that was already in the public domain
Blame the staff that the most corrupt move in modern presidential history is taking place all due to his actions? What would he have had Bondi do? Release the files with his name and likeness littered about, doing God only knows what? I wrote earlier today about the graphic nature of those files. If Trump is pictured – compromised, insiders in the White House will know, and just how excited are they supposed to be about defending him? It would seem that frustration with the staff over their ability to kill the story will do nothing but drive the staff into their own insanity.
The frustration stems, in part, from an understanding that this is “a vulnerability,” said a White House ally. Trump has famously had his finger on the pulse of the Republican base for more than a decade but has, for now, lost the ability to dominate the narrative. That threatens to undermine the momentum and sense of invincibility the GOP felt at the beginning of the month when they were getting ready to boast about a slew of new tax cuts and border funding as their opening pitch to voters ahead of the 2026 midterms.
Ah yes, the mid-terms. Well, this most certainly is a vulnerability, and every single Republican has to know it. Now they have to explain why they’re supporting a president by covering up child trafficking files, with the inference being that Trump appears throughout those files (One thousand agents?). So that puts those in the House on defense and wondering just how long they can hold out as the scandal keeps growing. It will not go away.
No, there is no out on this scandal because, as I have written before, some of this material is coming out given the number of witnesses and those who have already come forward. Some likely still have material, given how loosely it was guarded. Eventually, Trump is going to have to face everything, just as he did with the stupid drawing and letter, and hope that he can merely get through the other side.
But as I also have written, let’s not forget that the children – now grown women- are the real focus. Their well-being and closure are what this is really about because it is just as important to get “Joe CEO” as a rapist as it is Donald Trump. They are all the same kids, facing all the same men. Damn sure the girls didn’t suffer every bit as horrifically under Joe CEO as Trump. In the end, it’s about exposing everyone in light of the many victims.
There is no way around this scandal, and it’s not going away, indeed – it is day to day. It is no wonder that Trump is furious. Unlike everything else in his life, he really can’t just power through this with collateral damage to everyone else. This is on him, though he has company, all of this in the kids’ name.
