The Furkids love this song because it’s all about doing your own thing without worrying about what anyone else says or thinks. Many hoomins wish they could pull off this attitude with the same carefree joie de vivre and nonchalance that their furkids so effortlessly achieve.

It’s about being true to yourself, your beliefs, your philosophy and not trying to reshape yourself to please someone else. It’s about taking the time to appreciate Nature and relishing the simple joys like wiggling your toes in warm sand. For Furkids, it’s also about having hoomins devoted to their happiness!

Many singers have recorded this song, but the team’s favourite is the delightful Peggy Lee version. The jukebox is primed and ready to go, so just press play, scroll down to the illustrated lyrics and sing along!

  1. Michelle, I was so struck today by the mixed message today. That is not a complaint…more of a truism. I love the joie de vivre and nonchalance and Peggy Lee. And, I also love the reminder in Gregory’s story that all of us are creatures who need some help to get there. Andrew needed Gregory and Gregory most assuredly needed Andrew. On some days, I have trouble remembering to be open to those needs, but never on Sunday! Thank you for being there to end each tough week and start the next one refreshed!! 🥰

    • I think joie de vivre and nonchalance are what Gregory can finally express now that he is safely inside the circle of Andrew’s love and care. When truly loved, we can truly be ourselves because we are emotionally safe. So perhaps it’s not so much a mixed message as different sides of the love coin. 🤗💖🤗
