Let me ask all of you lovely people a simple question. Wherever you live, when you listen to candidates running for office, what do you listen for? Are you looking for a specific platform, forward thinking ideas, an agenda to move the country forward. Someone who will work to make your life better. Or do you want a boatload of bitching and moaning about how you got screwed 4 years ago, and a never ending tirade against the prosecutors and judges that are trying to bring him to justice?

Because that’s exactly what what you’re looking forward to in a Trump 2024 run for the White House. The funny thing is that he already tried it, and it failed miserably. After his humiliating loss in 2020, Trump made sure that the 2022 midterms were a referendum on The Big Steal! Moderate Republicans urged attacking Biden and his programs instead, but the bovine herd of the GOP went along, and got spanked in 2022.

Which leads us to 2023. Trump is once again a declared candidate for President of the United States. But Trump hasn’t learned a thing. While he is no longer as obsessional about 2020 as he was, he still regularly brings it up at rallies. But the simple fact of the matter is, Trump has nothing to sell that anybody other than shambling Trombies want to buy.

Trump’s secret sauce in 2016 was a witches brew of native populism, overt racism, and white grievance. And it worked. But only once. The GOP tried it again in 2018, and Trump tried it again in 2020, and both times all of the people who woke up on inauguration day of 2017 rode him and his party out of town on a rail.

And here we are in 2023, and Trump is still the same one-trick-pony. While Trump has backed off on The Big Lie, he is still heartily promoting racism and white grievance in his campaign rhetoric. Which is fine if you’re a part of the 32% Trump base that lives on that crap. But not so good if you want to be elected President again.

And you know what? I have my own matrix by which I judge the true size of Trump’s most loyal base. You know what that is? Put your money where your mouth is. When Trump was on Twitter, he had a following of some 40 million. But today, his 3rd rate, loser social media platform, B*llshit Social has a massive subscription base of about 5 million. Which means that 35 million people were willing to follow him for sh*ts-and-grins for free on Twitter, but not if they had to pay for the privilege of his drivel. Get to know who your friends are, Diaper Donnie.

But as the legal tsunami starts crashing down around his head, his messaging has once again become monolithic. The Liberal WITCH HUNT to bring him down! And therein lies the problem. Not just for Trump, but for the GOP writ large.

Because the voters don’t want to hear that sh*t! They don’t want to hear about you trying to buy off a porn star. They don’t want to hear about your sleazy business practices for the last 30 years. They don’t want to hear about you trying to strongarm  the Georgia legislature to overturn legal election results in 020. And they don’t want to hear about you inciting the Capitol riot, or holding classified documents for hostage at Mar-A-Lago!

No, dummy. What the voters of 2024 who don’t sport MAGA apparel want to hear is what you’re going to do for them if they put you back in the White House. They could care less if you corruptly use your power as President to keep yourself out of prison. The vast majority of Americans want to hear what you’re going to do to lower their car payments, lower the prices at the gas pump and the grocery store, and make their school safer for their children. And you got nothing!

The 30% of the far right and far right are ideologically driven, and will show up for the cause of the moment. But for the critical 40% in the mushy middle, they still want to know what you’re gong to do for them. Ad the 2024 GOP isn’t going to do a goddamn thing for them. And since they’re only tuned in to their racist base, they can’t even find a way to hide it. A sure fire recipe for disaster.

  1. Everyone talks crap about Trump, but look at potato head Bidenladen. He is by far the worst president America has ever had. He is a POS. As a sure fire recipe for disaster, Bidenladen has already stirred the mix and has it in the oven baking. it’s A-holes like Bidenladen, Harris, Pelosi, hell almost all of the Democrats that has us failing as a Nation. We used to be a nation of Kicking a.. and taking names, but with our current resident in the white house, as a Nation now,we are taking names and paying to lick our enemies a**es!!

That could be the saddest name I’ve ever heard. GALEN ZORTMAN! The son of MR & MRS ZORTMAN! What a laugh riot! GALEN ZORTMAN! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!

      • I Googled the name (fairly uncommon) and from the hits I got it seems to be the same guy. I would just ignore him.
        **Don’t feed the trolls!**

      • Galen Zortmam is an inhabitant of the planet Zortman, which is situated in the infamous “Bozone,” an atmospheric condition which keeps all residents completely ignorant of facts and rational reasoning. All educated and rational people in the U.S., and thankfully there are more of us than them, have had it with the Zortmans and their Bozone view of the world.

  2. I look forward to seeing fat ass try to run because a lot of states will not allow common criminals on their ballots.
We in Michigan have our pitchforks out for russian blowing, punk republiCLOWNS and fat ass will not be on our ballot.

  3. We need to stop pretending that so-called independent voters are actually undecided and independent. Studies have shown that they lean GOP or Dem consistently. I suspect they lie to themself that they only vote for the candidate, not the party.

Newsflash: Angus King may call.himself an independent as does Bernie Sanders. They are considerably more progressive than a,lot of Dems, like Manchin.

    • I recall during Reagan’s first term these legislators in Congress were sometimes called “Boll Weevils” and for folks that knew cottan (big in the south) it wasn’t well received. No matter, by then the migration of KKKonstervative “southern Democrats” over to the GOP was picking up steam. By early in Bush 41’s term it was almost complete. Al Senator Richard Shelby was I believe the last holdout, staying (and betraying) the Democratic Party up into Clinton’s first term. But after Clinton’s tax hike happened Shelby finally made things official. Personally I think it’s wrong, and downright chickensh!t for someone to run and win election as a member of one Party and then after safely in office switch. (We just had a state legislator here in NC pull this stunt giving our viciously gerrymandered state a supermajority in her chamber re-established) I believe such a person should have to resign, and their appointed replacement until a special election can be held should be from the Party they were affiliated with when they won their seat. They’d still be in a great position to win, but a strong candidate could play up their betrayal when memories are fresh with a “backstabber”, “how can you trust this person?” campaign message.
