Pete Davidson Calls Tucker Carlson A D**k And Other Funny Stuff

Pete Davidson said his farewells to Saturday Night Live this week, and while the bigger story, and the bigger loss, is the departure from SNL of the brilliant Kate McKinnon, whose impersonations of everyone from Hillary Clinton to Jeff Sessions exhibited a comedic range that will be impossible to replace, Davidson managed to make some news as he exited the show vis a “Weekend Update” segment during which he spoke for us all when he called Tucker Carlson “a dick”.

Those of you who cannot, or will not, use YouTube,can read about Pete’s kerfuffle with Carlson in a post by the incisive Dean Obeidalla at CNN who joins Pete in skewering the frozen fish heir and his corporate enablers, FoxNews.

“in the lead-up to the 2018 election, Davidson sparked a backlash on the right when he joked on “Weekend Update” about Crenshaw, then a GOP congressional candidate – who lost an eye from a war injury while serving in Afghanistan. Davidson – with an image of Crenshaw on the screen – said, “You may be surprised to hear he’s a congressional candidate for Texas and not a hit man in a porno movie.”

And, of course, right-wing heads exploded across the nation, excoriating Davidson with faux righteous fury for poking fun at a war hero despite the fact that their own Dear Leader Trump had been using John McCain as a punching bag for three years at that point. For his own part, Crenshaw was somewhat gracious, appearing on SNL with Pete for a bit of make-up Kissy face:

Fast forward to 2022, Carlson has his own beef with Crenshaw, specifically his support for U.S. aid to Ukraine, who is in the process of kicking Tucker’s sugar-daddy Putin’s ass all over the Donbas.

“Last week Carlson, who has a history of pushing pro-Putin propaganda, slammed Crenshaw for his continued vocal support of US help for Ukraine against Russia’s invasion, calling the congressman “eye patch McCain.” Carlson was strategically linking Crenshaw to the late GOP Sen. John McCain, a frequent target of former President Donald Trump’s, even after his death. But there was no need for Carlson to mock Crenshaw’s war injury.

So where is the fury over Carlson’s dig by those on the right who went ballistic over Davidson’s 2018 joke? When I look through the Twitter feeds of the National Republican Congressional Committee, Gutfeld and others who slammed Davidson back then, I can’t find a peep of criticism of Carlson.”

Of course not. They are only outraged when it suits their purpose.
