Many a true word spoken in jest and maybe a truth revealed by a Freudian slip. I loved it a few weeks ago when Sean Hannity called Lara Trump “Lara Shit” for example. That was Hannity’s greatest moment, short of the time he got caught vaping on camera. So get ready for yet another classic. And no, we’re not pushing a conspiracy theory here. But I do have a few ideas to run past you and let’s face it, we live in a world devoid of norms, where anything goes.

I’ll tell you a few things that have always stuck out with me and I’m not alone in this.

  1. Trump always said, “I have plenty of votes.”
  2. He even said, “I don’t need your vote.”
  3. Could Elon have literally purchased enough votes to carry the election?
  4. Elon has made it clear that he intends to pay to primary anybody who doesn’t play ball with him. Did he start buying the election, literally?

Michael Moore said that a mere 12 votes per precinct would have swung the election in the other direction. So let’s say, hypothetically, that Musk bought “x” number of votes in swing states for let’s say $50 a vote. There are a lot of people who would sell a ballot for $50, let’s be realistic about that.

Not saying it happened. Only speculating that considering the state of politics and division in this country that it could have happened that way. Musk saw an opportunity to use his vast wealth to sway the election via the Twitter sale and the amount of money he donated to Trump’s campaign. Maybe it didn’t stop there.

And don’t forget, a lot of people sat this election out. COVID was good insofar as it galvinized the electorate into a high turnout. We didn’t have that going this last cycle and so we lost by 1.5%.

In any event, Trump’s return to power, stolen or righteous, is an unmitigated disaster and we are only looking at the the tip of the iceberg.

And yes, I get it, he’s probably talking about the “rigged” 2020 election because that’s the lie he’ll take to his grave. He knows it wasn’t rigged. Everybody in both chambers of Congress knows it wasn’t rigged. But that’s Trump’s line because he can’t allow himself to admit that he got beat or lost. Which he did.

In any event, we are where we are and we have to fight our way out of it, one day at a time. And let’s be eternally grateful that we’re not back in the year 2000 with the 500 votes in Florida and the hanging chads. I can’t live through another one of those. It’s difficult to live through a second Trump term, but I definitely don’t want to ever see an election like 2000 again.

  1. It’s such a shame that republicans have stolen the rights to ‘The election was stolen by the other side cheating’ story.

It means no-one else can now use it.

    Apparently.

Even if, this time, it’s true.

    • When it was really true was in 2000 but Al Gore decided not to raise hell about it. I understood and respected his decision at the time. But here we are again, with the idea that free and fair elections are not that.

  2. I think the election was rigged but more with help from the CIA and Russia, Elon’s just the helpful, wannabe, behind the scenes dictator. What concerns me is WHY? What are they trying to cover up? With Twitler’s idiocy on display for the world to laugh at as a distraction, what are the so-called “elites” planning?
