NY Attorney General Sues Trump and Kids, Decade of Illegal Conduct in Foundation

Per CNBC,

New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood sued President Donald Trump and three of the Trump kids – surely Don Jr, Eric and Ivanka, claiming “a pattern of persistent illegal conduct” for more than a decade at the charity named for Trump.

The lawsuit claims that the Donald J. Trump Foundation engaged in “extensive unlawful political coordination with the Trump presidential campaign.”

She also alleged, “repeated and willful self-dealing transactions to benefit Mr. Trump’s personal and business interests.” The suit alleges that Trump used Foundation proceeds to pay his legal bills (does that sound like something a rich man would do?) and “promote his business.”

This would fall under grounds for impeachment under ANY other president, the fallout will be massive. We can only hope that she has rock solid proof, because if she does, I do not know how Republicans can support Trump through this.

Charity?

And Trump had the gall to criticize the Clinton Foundation which has given away hundreds of millions of dollars to causes all over the globe. This should result in criminal charges, but instead, the lawsuit seeks millions of dollars in restitution and penalties.

Now, imagine the howling monkeys in the House of Representatives had that headline broken during the Obama administration, had Obama had a Foundation?

Update Number One: Trump released a statement in which he called this “politics at its absolute worst” implying that the NYAG had only political reasons to bring the case. A better question might be how “politics” kept this from being an issue sooner. How many NY prosecutors (and federal IRS auditors) let  this obvious behavior continue over the years? Also, does the Foundation’s issues play a role in why Trump never released his taxes?
