It looks like there is going to be another manic binge posting spree by Trump. All the signs are there. And if that’s the case, then that means that he’s processing something emotional, at least if we are to believe his niece, Mary, the psychologist, who says that “Donald uses social media to process his feelings.” One thing we have learned: when Trump binge posts, it means that he’s been given bad news and so he has to deal with his panic and create as big a distraction as possible from whatever the bad news is. Bear in mind, we are dealing with a 79-year-old man (almost) who never was much of an intellect to begin with and now is attempting to do the world’s hardest job as a hobby between golf tournaments. Things are bound to be unstable and tinged with desperation.

Remember Johnnie Cochran, the defense lawyer who got O.J. Simpson off? Cochran did this same kind of a meme, “If it doesn’t fit, you must acquit,” with reference to the gloves allegedly found at the scene and belonging to the murderer of Simpson’s wife, Nicole, and her co-worker Ron Goldman. There was a plethora of other circumstantial evidence which indicated Simpson’s guilt but Cochran brilliantly crafted his argument down to this Perry Mason-esque level of theatrics.
Trump loves Perry Mason theatrics. What a shame that he wasn’t able to employ them effectively in his trial in Manhattan and was convicted of 34 felonies instead.
In all events, it’s somewhat comical that Trump is saying that you’re in big trouble if you spit on a cop. And Kash Patel echoed that this weekend. Patel said, “Hit a cop, you’re going to jail.” (But don’t worry about it, Trump will pardon you. He pardoned all the January 6 convicted criminals, remember?) And they didn’t just “hit” cops, they beat, tazed, maced and clubbed them. The rules have changed since January 6, 2021 and now.
Let’s start with the hypocrisy. Because it burns.
On Saturday, Trump’s FBI director-manqué, Kash Patel, xeeted out:
A great cry went up across the sentient universe. “Hit a cop, you’re going to jail”??????
Unless, of course, you were a J6 rioter who beat, tased, and bludgeoned cops. That, as we know, was a whole different thing for the Trumpian champions of the “thin blue line.”
Lest we forget, on his first day in office, Trump pardoned every rioter, including those who assaulted officers.

Footage from a Washington, D.C., police officer’s body camera captured how he was savagely beaten as he pleaded for mercy and Capitol rioters rejoiced in the assault.
The video, which CNN obtained exclusively and aired Wednesday night, shows Metropolitan Police Officer Michael Fanone being dragged down steps of the Capitol’s Lower West Terrace during the Jan. 6 riot.
As Fanone screams in agony, one rioter’s voice can be heard over the noise: “I got one!”
Fanone appears to be on his back as he desperately tries to fend off crowds of rioters, one in a red “Keep America Great” baseball cap, another in a Gadsden flag T-shirt and another carrying a pro-Trump flag….
With pro-Trump rioters all over him, Fanone begs his attackers to think of his four daughters back at home.
“I have kids,” Fanone can be heard yelling during the brutal beating.
Eventually a path is cleared and Fanone is taken back into the Capitol where he struggles for air, according to the footage.
That was a horrible day, one of this darkest in this nation’s history. The hypocrisy is undeniable. But the logic is simple: What serves Trump’s interests? If beating a cop does, then beat a cop MAGA will. If siding with the cops serves Trump, then side with the cops MAGA will.
Nothing like having a charismatic cult leader in office and a cult that is indoctrinated by right-wing lies. That’s the long and the short of it.
