I just love Tariffs As Myth compared to tariffs as reality. And never the twain shall meet, beyond the fantasy life of MAGA. And what a fantasy life that is and with good reason. Trump has gaslighted them into believing that tariffs are the way and the light, the path to a “golden age” he promises them. Wait until they go to Walmart for moo moos and flip flops and find out how much more they pay with Trump’s magical tariffs. What will the explanation be then?
Now bear in mind that money to Trump is like monopoly money to you and me. He’s never earned an honest dollar in his life with the exception of his *acting* job on The Apprentice. Other than that, he’s manipulated his inherited fortune and defrauded anybody who got involved with him in business. So the actual way that things shape up, how much a normal person has to pay to have a roof over their heads, feed themselves, insure a car, whatever, he has no idea.
That’s the main reason he can bullshit as effectively as he can, is because the man literally has no concept of how anything financial works. So he believes his own crazy talk because that’s the kind of *mind* he has. If a whacko concept sounds good to him, it will sound good to the idiots that follow him. And you have to admit, so far he’s been right about that. Donald is one of them, meaning an uneducated n’er do well. If Trump had to take his skills — not his money or his line of bullshit but his actual, objective skills — out into the market place he wouldn’t survive a day.
Think about it. Every other president in office has been a lawyer or a teacher or a military man. Ronald Reagan was an actor, legitimately. He wasn’t a billionaire playing a version of himself, with a line of bullshit that sold on TV, and then was later used to sell himself in politics.
And if there’s a part of you that’s saying, “Wait a minute. Haven’t I heard this before?” Yes, the no tax paying part has been a component of the sovereign citizen conspiracy theory for a while. Check this out.

The sovereign citizen people are batshit. They’re even crazier than the flat earth people and that’s saying a mouthful. I have known two flat earthers in my life (both of which thought COVID was a hoax, by the by) and one of them was a sovereign citizen acolyte.
One of the reasons that Trump is successful is that we are in a day and age where for reasons difficult to fathom, a lot of people simply want to check out and believe in magical thinking. You see that with the prosperity consciousness sect of the Evangelical wing of Christianity.
The prospersity consciousness people believe that if they just pray hard enough that cash, houses, spouses, you name it, will fall into their laps. Their version of God wants to just give them these things. The God of my understanding wants me to work and build something and I’m going to bet you that my interpretation of God is more in line with the real thing than the RWNJ’s version. I truly wish that every single person who pulls this whole “sovereign citizen” nonsense would have their AMERICAN citizenship revoked–meaning they lose their right to vote and they have their driver’s licenses and business licenses and gun permits revoked and then they get deported somewhere (preferably to some US territory that’s currently uninhabited–maybe Wake and Navassa Islands could be used or just ship them off to Gitmo).
If these people don’t want to accept political reality, then treat them as “undocumented immigrants.”
