Nikki Haley, along with the more strident Ron DeSantis, was once the hope of the great “anyone but Trump” movement ever present in what was once the Republican primary. It is probably best to remind everyone that as they held the initial primaries a majority of Republicans were looking for a Trump alternative. They just couldn’t ever agree on the candidate to take up the flag. Nikki Haley lasted the longest but by then the competition had been decided and Donald Trump was getting more than 50% of the GOP vote. But Haley has earned a voice at the table. She just used that voice to give precious advice to the Trump campaign as it heads into the last few days.
Haley wants Trump to do the impossible, court women voters by actually speaking to them in a manner that will attract votes, not repel them. This is radical advice to the crew that just put together a Sunday Madison Square Garden MAGA extravaganza that alienated all but the most MAGA men. Haley is screaming “Pull up… Pull up…” as Trump et. al. continue to fly what might have been a relatively easy win into the side of a cliff.
According to Mediaite, Haley gave it to them straight and she did so on Fox News, the Rotary of real MAGA:
You’ve got Americans who are absolutely going to vote for Trump, you’ve got Americans who are absolutely not going to vote for Trump, and then you’ve got a percentage in the middle who like Trump policies but don’t like his style. That is what they need to focus on.
Right. Except everyone has that figured out. Lay the good stuff on them:
So, when you look at these things, it has got to be a story of addition. This is not a time to have anyone criticize Puerto Rico or Latinos. This is not a time for them to get overly masculine with this bromance thing that they’ve got going. Fifty-three percent of the electorate are women. Women will vote. They care about how they are being talked to and they care about the issues. They need to remember that. This is a time of discipline and this is a time of addition.
The bromance thing? Good show, Haley. Yes, women will vote and as of right now, there exists one of the greatest gender gaps of all time, one that may propel Harris to victory. To the extent this represents good advice, and it does, Trump needed it six weeks ago. Perhaps it was known back then and became a question as to whether to follow it, which they most certainly have not. Of course, it could be like trying to feed steak to a squirrel. It just isn’t going to happen.
But it could have turned the corner, 53% is a majority, even using my math, and this election will come down to the narrowest of margins. The Harris campaign has certainly picked up on the same message and is telling the same MAGA families that it is okay for women to cast a split family vote, very quietly:
I get it, but it's still kind of funny.

Yes, well done. As we head into the last weekend at the narrowest of margins, it likely will come down to a few undecided women. Fortunately for Kamala Harris, the Trump campaign is doing all it can to ensure that they have nowhere to go but run to them.
Haley is giving Trump advice he needs to hear. But had he put together such obvious factors months ago he would likely be ahead 2-3 points instead of fighting for his electoral life.

At the gym today, I was subjected to the verbal sewage spewing from two 70ish men on the treadmills I was going from machine to machine as I do and unfortunately got to hear all of their magat crap. They are on the treadmills, going as slowly as the machines go, watching fux for an hour. And bitching the entire time. So many errors, so much misunderstanding, so little use of their brains that I think I figured it out! Magats went to school (as far as they could), and didn’t get sex change operations – they got lobotomies! That is the only logical answer for their absolute stupidity! And my apologies to the actual people who have had lobotomies.
Interesting. I am 75. All my friends in PA are 60+,and every last one of them is voting for Harris ( including the one who.has won an Emmy).
Women, vote not only while you still have the right to choose, but while you still have the right to even vote. The chatter out there is concerning to say the least.
