Watch what may be the beginning of dominoes placed in a row. And when the first one falls, then all the rest follow. The connectedness of things is what MAGA doesn’t seem to grasp. Isolationism is not realistic. It was not realistic in the era of WWI. We found that out. Then we found it out again in WWII. And the way trade has gone globally in the 80 years since WWII really makes it impossible to cop an isolationist stance. Yet that is what MAGA Republicans and Elon Musk and Donald Trump propose that we do. Trump is indifferent to the fall of democracy globally and to the damage he does to the country internally.

It’s not the defense of Europe it’s the defense of all NATO democracies and democracy itself. But the richest man in the world, who would rule the world, make no mistake, wants to convince Americans otherwise. And so does Trump. He’s now got a 100-year plan for us all to get “rich.” What’s that you say? You won’t be here in 100 years? Well, I guess you just have to go through the Hell part and you won’t be here for Heaven. Oh, well. Donald tried. You can’t please everyone so you’ve got to please Vladimir.

This is 12-dimensional chess Trump, follow the plan. He’s got it all wired. Meanwhile, if America does leave NATO that is very very bad.

These are the kinds of scenarios that lead to WWIII talk. The war hawks say we could turn North Korea “into a lava field” and likely we could — but how many major U.S. cities would they wipe out before they became a scene out of Star Wars? I personally do not want to find out.

And through all this, we have Mr. Oblivious talking pie in the sky and the MAGAs eating it up with a spoon.

I look forward to being so rich that I don’t know what to do with all my money. I absolutely want to see that day dawn. I think it only dawns for real if you are Adderall-addled or Ketamine-compromised. Then you believe this level of hooey. But for the yous and mes, it is the utter bullshit that it sounds like.

  1. A guy this deluded got ELECTED president?

No wonder the rest of the world can’t understand America.

No wonder they’re happy to distance themselves from it.

    • Well, you know what they say: “In the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.” With Drumpf and MAGA, it’s basically a similar concept: “In the land of those with no brain cells, the one with a single functioning brain cell is king.”

  2. Malhuret made it clear in his speech that he considers trump to be a traitor. His call to arms recognizes the likelihood that the US will not only leave NATO, it may even align itself with Russia and become an adversary to the western alliance. So France and its EU allies are going to re-arm as quickly as they can, along with other democracies like Canada and Japan. On the geopolitical Richter scale this is a magnitude 10 event. So, hang on to your hat. We’re in for the ride of our lives.

  3. From the “RCP Video” twit:

“Trump: Don’t Just Watch the Stock Market. China Has A 100-Year Perspective, We Go By Quarters.”

    This.

    Is.

    HILARIOUS!!!!

Trump says “don’t watch the stock market” because it’s been “trending” lower for the past couple of weeks. But, just as soon as the market makes some big moves, he’ll be flipping the script and BRAGGING about how HE turned the market around (and probably how it’s the “most perfect stock market” ever).

As for the whole “100-year perspective” bit, he’s talking out of his lower sphincter again. Granted, China does make much longer term plans than the US does but there’s just an eensy-weensy-itsy-bitsy difference he kind of ignores in the comparison: China is a CENTRALIZED economy. ALL capitalist ventures in the country MUST be vetted by the government and they ALL have to work *FOR* the government to some degree. But, also, the fact about the US economy is we have this little thing called “free elections” (well, that may be changing thanks to Drumpf but, for the moment . . .) so that the country can’t really do anything more than “quarters.” At most, an administration gets 8 consecutive years to get its job done, including its economic goals, and that’s ONLY if that administration’s party is also in charge of Congress and doesn’t face court challenges to its economic plans; at worst, the administration only gets four years to get its economic plans pushed through. And, then you’ve got all those PRIVATE companies that may or may not choose to accept those particular goals (which leads to the possibility of court challenges). Also, there is the fact that most private businesses make a double set of plans: One for the short-term and another for the long-term. BUT, if problems develop in the short-term (and those problems lead to lower stock prices), then the long-term plan is likely to be tossed out as well. To put it in a way that Drumpf might could more easily understand, TV shows. Almost no TV show (reality or full-scripted) gets a guarantee of more than 13 episodes to be produced (there are always exceptions, of course–if the show is coming from a successful producer or production team or there’s a big-name star attached to the show, then there’s a chance of a full season’s being greenlit). But, even when a show has real support from the network, if the ratings don’t hold up, then the show may be cancelled before the guaranteed run is finished (and the more the production costs compared to the rates the network can get for commercials, the more likely the show gets the ax). And, of course, if a network starts cratering in the ratings overall, any show championed by the executives being viewed as “responsible” for the network’s bad showing is really liable to get axed (unless the show is one of the few bright spots). Because of actors’ contracts usually having a 7-year limitation, even a successful series that runs 7 years has to start considering whether to end the show or risk losing some or all of its main stars (or start negotiating pay raises for those stars) if it wants to keep the show on the air (we’ve seen that with shows ranging from “Friends” to “The Big Bang Theory” to “NCIS” to “The Simpsons”; ratings were still seen sufficient to allow bigger paychecks for the stars that wanted to stay with the shows–I think, with “NCIS,” the network offered Mark Harmon a better deal as an executive producer, allowing him to get that EP title for some of the spin-offs, rather than raising his per-episode pay).

So, if Drumpf wants to go to that Chinese-style long-term planning, he’s got to be willing to put ALL businesses (that includes the Muskrat’s as well) under federal control.

  4. Apparently MAGAts can’t understand maps. China can take down Japan and our bases plus our fleet. Russia can take Eastern Europe and then go after Western Europe. If China takes the Pacific Coast,,we’re dead– It’s only Canada standing with us.
