Here is a winning campaign pledge in the last week! Elon Musk – a man who spent nearly his entire 50 years blissfully uncaring about politics, has now taken up Donald Trump’s siren call to make America great again and it will begin with… a depression. Just in time for the holidays.
This isn’t necessarily direct from Trump, though Musk is the man who Trump would task to make government efficient again. Not that it ever was, but don’t tell anyone. The two are, however, likely in cahoots with one another. Additionally, neither is talking about shrinking the U.S. economy from the top down. No, only profits work that way. Pain will begin from, and likely stay confined to, the bottom and it will come about by locking down assistance to people already struggling to make it in this the 21st Century $7.35/hour serfdom.
Of so sayeth the richest man on Earth, a guy who could lose two-thirds of his piggy bank and still get by on $100 million a month on the interest of his interest (I did the math, so it’s wrong – but probably close and probably conservative). Any pain to be experienced won’t be felt by Musk, which probably contributes to why this sounds solidly reasonable to him. From our guys over at Meidas Touch:
Musk’s remarks, shared in a Telephone Town Hall organized by his America PAC, indicate that he and Trump see economic pain to average Americans as a necessary cost of their policy goals. “We have to reduce spending to live within our means. And that necessarily involves some temporary hardship, but it will ensure long-term prosperity,” Musk stated in the call, fully endorsing the strain Trump’s policies would place on Americans.
The guy who started a rocket company to haul himself to Mars is lecturing us on living within our means and temporary pain. So, just… when you hear the advice, lock in on the guy purveying it. Given that many people are already in permanent hardship, there is reason to worry about further “temporary” pain and whose long term prosperity is contemplated. Your pain, their prosperity. It always was and will be again.
If all this sounds medieval to you, it should. Not since the time of kings and papal states has one man owned so much wealth relative to that of the commoners.
But Donald Trump should absolutely close out his campaign promising to jam the country’s economy into a hole full of self-imposed pain. That’s certainly not politics as usual. Have at it.
Please, oh – please, in this last week before the election, vow to make groceries even harder to purchase with less money in one’s pocket. Contemplating hunger is the way to motivate people to scurry over to the voting booth and just get it over with already. That’s a cinch on the final five-day closeout, which is when everyone will soon do their dairy shopping anyway.
Is this even real? And if so, where was this message a month ago! This is one that the voters ought to know. To be fair, it is absolutely one way to make government more efficient. Have it do nothing but spend money on satellites and other cool sh*t while Medicare, the Farm Bill, and other subsidies get whacked. Damn, who could have thought of such a great idea… other than Every. Single. Other Republican who has ran since Reagan invented trickle down pain.
This will be special. It will be fancy. Great to see thousands of blue collar Trump-supporters line up to vote to give Elon a tax cut. That will show them. Owned, Libtard!

Nice to see someone else with a bottomless barrel of stupidity.
The depression this country will suffer from when the 8 million people who actually do the work in this country get deported will make 1929 look like a mere blip-please remember just how expensive everything will get when the people providing food and essential services are gone. Please remember that in an economy such as our-this big a hit will hit more than just the farm industry. The hunger/hardship everyone but these wealthy assholes will suffer from will look like a scene from The Grapes of Wrath. Those 8 million people, if their employers are following the law, get payroll taxes taken from their paychecks–and they do NOT get medicare or S.S. They pay the fuck in and don’t take it out. These poor fuckers contribute a fuckton of a lot of shit, including taxes btw, and these dumbasses say “oh, let’s just deport them all, it’ll be ok in a few years”. WTF??? I have read stupid shit from republicans and their ilk literally for decades but the past 10-ish years have been mind-numbing.
Anyone who thinks space karen has ANY business acumen needs to come talk to me: I got a bridge I’m unloading at a bargain basement price.
I’ve been trying to say the same thing – that deporting all of the people who do the work in EVERY industry will make food scarce and so expensive we cannot afford to eat, among so many other hardships. Do they honestly believe fat, lazy white magats will go do these menial jobs, or is that what they will do with the “enemy within” Democrats? Forced labor and if one drops dead, so what? There are plenty more and it gets rid of all of us. Sounds so much like nazi germany…
I thought everything was about inflation and now he’s telling Americans we will endure hardship as they will slice and dice government?
If you read what is said about the GQP economic plan, well as much as they have released their concept of a plan, all the economists says it’s going to be horrible. We’ve been warned by so many, and now right from the magat mouths.
Musk making government efficient? Like the companies he’s running into the ground? Oh, wait… where have I seen this before…?
Ok we have to clowns. Trumps daddy gave him his money along with the Russians. Musk got his by accident over a stock deal on climate stock he sold to polluters. And we are supposed to trust these two clowns with the economy. I don’t think so. I wouldn’t trust them with a lemonade stand.
