Marjorie Taylor Greene has once again proven herself the poster child for the concept, and the very definition of the word “kakistocracy” the rulership of a government by the least qualified members of a society. She did a colossal blooper on Twitter, pulled it down and replaced it with one almost as stupid.
But Twitter has a perfect memory, at least for the likes of Greene. Everything she posts is screenshot and the screenshots come back to haunt her.
Here’s the one wherein she claimed that over 3/4 of the entire population of Planet Earth crossed the Mexican border into the United States in just two years. Really? And nobody saw a thing?

Six million is better than six billion, yes. In the years Trump was in office 2.5 million people tried to cross the border. That’s about 51,000 a month. The figure has increased under Biden. But bear in mind, part of this has to do with the Trump administration’s 2020 reforms to the immigration code under Title 42 of the U.S. health code, which allowed the administration to more quickly reject asylum-seeking migrants under the guise of protecting the public from diseases like COVID-19.
That acts as a virtual catch and release mechanism which allows the same people to keep coming back and making multiple attempts to cross the border.
As of May 2022, approximately half of all single adults from Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador expelled to Mexico under Title 42 were apprehended crossing the border a second time, according to research by the American Immigration Council—with one-third of all detainees counting at least two previous attempts at crossing the border.
On these facts, of course your numbers are going to skyrocket. But don’t look for too many of these facts coming from Republicans. All they want you to know is that the mongol hordes of Genghis Khan are surging up from the south to replace all the white people, and that’s the Democratic plan. That’s the talking point.
And expect to hear a lot of it. The border is the only thing that the GOP has going for it in 2024, so expect it to be depicted as histrionically and inaccurately as possible.
The Republicans have no platform. They’ve got to maximize every bad thing they can find and make stories up out of whole cloth about the rest.
Maybe Marjie should be asked to explain why the REPUBLICAN Congress (you know–the one that was so able to pass through all sorts of tax cuts with ease) didn’t, or couldn’t, manage to find a way to fund “Trump’s Wall.”
I mean, the Republicans had almost two full years when they had absolute control over the government and funding and yet they couldn’t (or wouldn’t) give all the money that Trump wanted for his wall.
Oh, and there is the matter that Trump PROMISED THE PEOPLE that MEXICO would pay for the wall so Congress wouldn’t have had any reason to fund it. It was only after Mexico refused to spend even a single peso that Trump had to turn to Congress (or use his “executive” power to divert funds from the US military to help pay for *his* wall).
But, none of that matters to Marjie since reality and history tend to prove the truth rather than fascist propagandists and media whores who’re trying to slam their political opponents.
Asking the likes of marjie kooky pants for logical/factual reasons why when the ‘pubes are in charge of both the w.h. and congress why they can only pass unneeded tax cuts is kind of like asking the ultimate question except the ultimate question has an answer: 42.

I wonder if she’ll ever realise that the ‘billions’ in aid to Ukraine are really the original costs of mothballed military equipment that is being donated.
After all, they kept voting more and more money for the military/industrial complex and a LOT of stuff was ‘superceded’ by the newest and shiniest toys.
The less shiny ones were parked in a desert and THAT’s what is going to Ukraine.
