Apparently Julie Kelly works for American Greatness, which identifies itself as “the leading voice of the next generation of American Conservatism.” Now, while all these dummies who know nothing about the law are bouncing off the walls, the simple matter is that “deadly force” is a standard clause.
“Yep, every FBI operations order contains a reminder of FBI deadly force policy. Even for a search warrant,” wrote former FBI Assistant Director Frank Figliuzzi. “Deadly force is always authorized if the required threat presents itself.”
“That is standard language in search warrants,” wrote Huffington Post White House correspondent S.V. Dáte. “They are, after all, dealing with suspected felons.”
“Trump wasn’t there,” former Rep. Joe Walsh (R-IL) wrote in response to Greene’s “assassination” comments. “Everything was coordinated with Secret Service & local law enforcement. Even for you, this is a deeply irresponsible and dangerous thing to say.”
Even some right-wing commentators pointed out it was all a bunch of hysteria over nothing.
“I did some digging into the ‘deadly force’ verbiage that was used in court documents regarding Trump’s classified documents case,” wrote right-wing talk radio host Breanna Morello.
“Since 2000, every FBI Operations plan has had the ‘Deadly Force Policy’ section pre-filled in. All federal Agents are authorized to use Deadly Force in accordance with this policy. I’m told this is nothing unique and is pretty standard.”
