The 12 Step programs are effective because they’re built upon insider knowledge of what the disease is and what it does. In Michael Cohen’s case, he is a de-programmed member of the Cult of Trump and his insights about what he finally realized about Trump are captivating. Cohen admits saying that he would “take a bullet” for Trump but said that things turned around for him when it dawned on him that he wouldn’t take the bullet if Trump was the one pulling the trigger, and that was in fact the case.
Fast forward to 35:10 where Cohen starts talking about how Allen Weisselberg is indeed the linchpin and once he goes down, then it will be the kids, and anybody that Trump can make take a fall, before he himself becomes the fall guy.
Cohen minces no words about Donald Jr. being the first to go, then Eric, then Ivanka, then Melania if need be. Trump only cares about saving one person and that’s himself.
It’s especially interesting when Cohen gets to the place where he describes how Trump’s run for president was “the greatest infomercial of all time” meant to invigorate the brand name and allow him to do more deals.
It’s also well known that Trump was going to get together with Steve Bannon after Hillary won, which is what they expected, and form Trump TV. That might have been a real goldmine. Trump could have extended out the 2016 campaign into a career. If he kept the fires of grievance stoked, he could have made bank doing it. We’ll never know now.
Careful what you wish for is the operant adage here.
The “brand” got invigorated but not the way Trump intended it. That’s why he’s a pariah in New Jersey. Don Jr. and Ivanka left New York because, as Cohen reveals, the kids are as despised as their Dad, and Cohen says, “nobody knows where Melania and Barron are. They could be on the space shuttle with Jeff Bezos, up there in the stratosphere.”
I love the description of Mar-a-Lago as an “insane asylum for incredibly wealthy sycophants who want to sit there and pat the fat ass of Donald Trump. Why? I have no idea. Some of these people are so rich that they could burn Donald’s money and still be mega billionaires. And why they want to sit there and placate this dumb fuck, I have no idea.”
Michael Cohen weighs in on the pee-tape, which he says, “Does not exist. How do I know that? Because if it did exist, I would own it. I had people looking for that for years.”
This is a good interview. Weisselberg is expected to be indicted by the end of summer, and if that’s the case, then if what Cohen says here is true, then it’s going to get very hot in the Trump kitchen. Forget hot, it’s going to become radioactive.
Better for Barron if he’s out of the public eye.
The kid deserves a chance at a normal life. Know nothing about him but I believe in kids and their potential, totally apart from who brought them into the world.

Question: why would Trump have him looking for years for something that didn’t exist? Apparently it did exist and Trump wanted it recovered and destroyed. That’s the only way I can interpret this.
That rang alarms for me too….if Trump-O wasn’t involved in the act, he would know as a fact that the tape of it didn’t exist because the act never occurred.
Then again, dealing in facts is not his strong suit.

My read on it is that it was rumored to exist — whether Trump told Cohen it existed or not, who knows? — and Cohen did his damnedest to find out if it did exist. And Cohen might be right. If he was offering enough money to a bounty hunter, if it existed, it might have been found.
You are right again Ursula Faw, this, has a two-side effect, but the root of this function call by Cohen, would not even exist, but for the sleazed bag Trump and his past optics …
DJT, is guilty of so many other, very deep crimes AND OF COURSE, maximum stupidity, the threats against his tax and operations audits would certainly be a factor to use as a lever by Putin and others … I’m thinking his past with young girls may have been deep enough to trigger his support for Putin … so much of that has involved current do-wrongs, in Trump’s closet …
I do not believe the tape was ever made and if Trump is worried about just means he was doing bad things and was worried that they were taped. I do believe Trump has done so much wrong while he was president that no one will ever know the all the things he has done. That is why so many people registered to vote to get him out of office. There was nothing illegal about the election people just had enough of him and the American people showed their disapproval and voted him out
