Anything in Trump world is possible. Melania Trump has been gone since Halloween. Ostensibly her mother is very ill. I’m trying to fact check a tweet that said she pulled the same stunt in 2018, when she was also missing in action. If anybody remembers this incident, do share with the rest of us. I remember her being gone a while and that was due to her kidneys.

Again, I’ve attempted to fact check this but haven’t been successful so far, so I give you that caveat. This may not be true and if it’s not, we’ll certainly stop talking about it and delete the tweet. Now here’s what Melania’s former BFF has to say about the situation.
Okay, I'll bite. Here are some ideas for speculating:
1. She had to go take a cold shower because she was had a monstrous hot flash.

It hadn’t occurred to me that menopause was part of this picture but that makes perfect sense. A lot of women go whacky during menopause. And I can tell you from first hand observation, women who are lookers and have depended upon their looks, and upon the kindness of strangers, you know the type, especially don’t take the change of life well.
Menopause is nature’s way of telling you you’re no longer young. Although, there is also tremendous freedom in not having to worry about pregnancy anymore or take birth control or any of that. Getting older has many wonderful benefits for a woman that our culture doesn’t talk about much because we live in a youth-obsessed culture. And some of the greatest romances in history have taken place between older lovers. Anthony and Cleopatra, Robert and Elizabeth Barret Browning come to mind.
And it’s also a time of self-evaluation. Maybe Melania has evaluated the situation she’s in and decided that it’s time to make some changes in her life. Wolkoff elaborates.
“Regardless of what I think about Melania Trump, I spent time with Amalija Knavs, Melania’s mother, and if the reports are accurate that she’s in the hospital, I pray for her,” Winston Wolkoff said. “Melania could make a statement so the speculation around the family photograph is dispelled.”
She continued: “Let me make myself very clear. I don’t wish ill will on anyone. What I do wish on Melania Trump is that she be held accountable for her deceit, deception, and duplicity, of not just what she did to me, but to the American people.”
But Wolkoff also says Melania won’t leave Trump, which is my take on it, too.
When asked by CNN host Abby Phillip if the 53-year-old would make more appearances with her husband as the 2024 presidential campaign draws closer, Winston Wolkoff replied, “I do feel strongly that Melania Trump isn’t going anywhere. I believe that Melania will stay by Donald’s side. Throughout all of this, she is his partner in crime.”
Winston Wolkoff insisted that Melania, who shares son Barron with the former president, 77, is not a damsel in distress.
“Unfortunately, people keep giving her this out, this reason to believe that Melania should be freed from Donald, but Melania is complicit,” she told Phillip. “Melania is, you know, side by side with the showmanship and she is exactly like Donald, just, unfortunately, in a skirt and high heels, and showing up today was just another way for her to have some camera time.”
Let’s see if she shows up on the campaign trail. Because while I believe she’ll stay with Trump I also believe that she doesn’t want any part of this circus that is his indictments (you notice she never went to court or to any of the bookings with him) or his desperate bid to get reelected.
We’ll see what we’ll see. Only one thing is certain: if Melania stays MIA, she’s only going to become more conspicuous by her absence as time goes by. And maybe that’s the point. Maybe that’s her power play against Trump, to let him know that she can embarrass him and he can’t do a damn thing about it.
Anyone want to wager when Melanoma resurfaces she’ll look “refreshed” and perhaps a bit more “youthful”? Otherwise, who gives a flying fart whether she’s around or not? Her absence raises not only local property values but the average intelligence in any room she avoids.
True enough. I do find it interesting that she chose the holidays to disappear, when it would be the most conspicuous. I think we’re seeing passive-aggressive control behavior here.
