A number of interesting things have happened in the past 48 hours, and we’re talking about bombshell developments other than the assassination of the former prime minister of Japan or the resignation of the sitting prime minister of the United Kingdom. Those alone, coming in less than 24 hours of one another, would stagger a news cycle.

But along with those stories came Elon Musk bailing on his Twitter commitment and almost sliding under the wire, by comparison. was news of Pat Cipollone’s testimony before the January 6 Committee.

Cipollone testified for over seven hours and word is that he didn’t invoke the 5th Amendment on a single occasion, nor did he mention anything about executive privilege. That’s appropriate, because he was working as counsel to the office of the president, not for Trump personally. Ergo, Cipollone did a lot of talking without the aid of evasive tactics and nobody is more worried about that than Donald Trump. His niece Mary weighs in.

Interesting comment, how “for the first time in his life, he can’t deny the walls are closing in.” We heard that phrase an awful lot when Trump was in office. The walls were always closing in when there was Impeachment I and then Impeachment II and we’re still adjudicating the Capitol riot — not to mention the ever present investigations in Georgia and New York.

There are two big questions now, as I see it: 1) What did Cipollone testify? We should know that Tuesday morning, when the next January 6 hearing convenes. 2) Is Trump going to run again? He was going to announce he would run on the 4th of July, but that came and went, other than a tepid :28 video commemorating the holiday which played on Rumble and Truth Social, wherein Trump made the comment, “the best is yet to come.”

He could be right about that. if he’s solidly out of public life and/or in prison, that would be the best thing for this country on a lot of levels. No question.

This was a very interesting synopsis by Mary Trump. Let’s see where we are with all this by Friday, after the January 6 Committee holds both sessions on Tuesday and Thursday. This could be a game changing week.

  1. One thing it the committee’s favor – the 22nd Amendment, which says you can only be president twice, so he has to quite claiming he “won” in 2020 in order to run, legally, in 2024.

  2. THE PROBLEM REMAINS TRUMP’S RUNAWAY MOUTH. HE PRANCES AROUND ASIF HE IS SURE THAT AS SLPW AS THE PROCESS HAS BEEN THUS FAR, IN THE HOUSE AND AT THE DOJ, HE THINKS HE CAN OUTRUN IT. THAT IS HE DANGER. JUST LIKE ALLOWING BANNON’S HATEFUL PODCAST TO RUN WHILE HE IS UNDER INDICTMENT AND CARLSON TO CONTINUE TO SPEW HATRED UNABATED OVER THE TV SYSTEMS. FREE SPEECH HAS ITS LIMITS, AS LAWS HAVE POINTED OUT, AND THE WHEELS NEED FAR MORE GREASE TO GET THE JOB DONE MORE EFFICIENTLY.
