Things have been in a brief holding pattern the past few days. Yes, Donald Trump has gone ballistics about wanting to tear down the DOJ, the FBI and throw them all into one smashed ketchup alphabet soup. That’s how he deals with life, is like a 3-year-old.

But it was thought, particularly after Trump cut a one minute promo asking people to get out to the polls and vote Republican, that perhaps cooler heads had prevailed. It was a confusing moment. The original election denier himself asking people to vote? But he did it.

It was presumed that maybe some middle ground had been found — what, nobody could even speculate, but the promo seemed to be a sign of something. Now today, the political weather vane indicates that the GOP stance is 100% with Trump insanity and 100% anti-government. Or, at the very least, one more senator is making it seem that way. Enter Marsha Blackburn, stage extreme right.

If you take this at face value, the state of play is “Elect Republicans because we’re going to topple the government — just like the cult leader wants us to.”

Ergo, November is about preserving the status quo, i.e., democracy, or giving way to the goths and the vandals at the gate, and burning it all down, as Steve Bannon used to say. “My goal is to burn it all down.” Terrific. Now we have a sitting senator who is basically parroting Breitbart and convicted Trump-pardoned felons. That’s just swell.

Screw national security. It’s all about Trump. We got the message. Thank you, Marsha.

Now the only question is how many more of them are going to jump on board this crazy train?

  1. So, somewhat ironically the Democratic Party has become the party of conservatism, i.e. preserving the status quo, democracy and our institutional and constitutional frameworks; and the other side has become the party of radical change and destruction of what we have and hold dear.

    • If you really believe that crap you just spewed, you are beyond delusional.

Democrats were never–NEVER–about “radical change and destruction” of anything. They were as much in favor of “preserving . . . democracy and our institutional and constitutional frameworks” as any other American party (aside from some truly fringe parties).

The fact that (as I’m typing this) someone actually upvoted you seems that you’re not the only delusional moron here.
