It is a given that everyone has read a number of articles along these same lines, the fact that President Donald Trump’s mental faculties are slowly decompensating before our eyes, but rarely has he made the degree of mistakes and gaffes that he made today at a speech to the American Business Forum in Miami.
The embarrassing symptoms are made that much more regrettable given the fact that Trump’s speech was essentially sent out to the world as it focused on the country’s relationship with South America generally, and probably Venezuela in particular, a country with which it feels almost like we could go to war with in the near future – which, ironically, may also be a sign of mental instability, the blood lust. Of course, though this pronouncement was almost certainly directed at South America, Trump inexplicably lashed out at South Africa. Yes, he did.
Added up, it was the type of speech that buried President Biden in having to confront his ability to process events and decisions. Trump seems almost immune to such criticism given the fawning nature of his followers and rigid adherence to all things MAGA by the Fox News ecosphere, which is why continuing reports here and elsewhere are critical.
To that end, a report in Rawstory nails down the raw meat torn off the net from observers. Again, by all appearances, Trump couldn’t process the difference between South America and South Africa, one a continent with all kinds of different governments and relationships, one a democratic country with its own unique issues.
Speaking to business leaders, Trump appeared to confuse South Africa with South America, where he said people came to the U.S. fleeing communism. South Africa was never a communist country, but countries like Venezuela and Colombia have contributed to immigrants fleeing communism for America. Trump has spent the past several months in office sending them back.
The flub only contributed to an “unfollowable ramble,” conspiracy expert and journalist Mike Rothschild wrote on X.
Yeah.
That sounds exactly like what we’ve come to expect, which is why he is graded on a curve. There is the “Presidential Expectation” curve, set for the Bidens, Obamas, and Bushes. And then there is the “Trump Expectation” scale, the one that barely clears sixth-grade reading skills, sometimes not even that. A lot of sixth-graders would point out, “Mr. President, are we really having trouble with South Africa? Or, given we are in Miami and all, are you talking about immigrants from South America?”
But again, that’s not really the point. The point is that even though Trump is most definitely graded on the “Trump Curve” and always has been, he can get away with a lot. Still, he seemed weaker today, even more “off.”
“Trump visibly leaning and holding on through an exhausted and unfollowable ramble, bouncing between subjects and countries and half-formed sentences to a silent audience. This doesn’t really feel sustainable,” he said.
This nation has a lot going on that doesn’t seem sustainable, and there are a lot of people who think much of it would go away if Trump himself were to be unable to serve. There are ample reasons to be a bit wary of claims of devolving dementia because we’ve heard it for ten years. On the other hand, we have seen how big an issue it can become, and there really isn’t a good reason to give Trump a “curve.” Well, that and the fact that he does seem to be slipping even on his scale.
It is worth watching and observing, as many others did:
“Was this intentional? Because Florida ranks No. 6 among states that are home to people from South Africa, but is No. 1 for pretty much every South American nation from which people flee communism, including Venezuela, Colombia, etc. Also, South Africa is a capitalist country,” FloridaPolitics.com reporter Jacob Ogles said.
It is possible it was intentional. After all, Miami is the center of all things Caribbean and South American in this nation. Many current American-Miami residents call it home and might not like to hear such aggressive talk. Perhaps Trump didn’t want to spoil the mood in and among the crowd. But one should then ask what the hell he was doing talking about communism and immigration down in Miami. All things considered, it’s far more likely that it was nothing more than a now old man decompensating.
The essential Democratic influencer Aaron Rupar noted:
if Joe Biden said this during a speech Hannity would immediately start anchoring special coverage and the New York Times would fire up a live blog breaking down every syllable https://t.co/3FvQYavhHN

That sounds just about right. For those unable to process Trump’s video, the transcript reads:
“For generations Miami has been a haven for those fleeing communist tyranny in South Africa. I mean, if you take a look at what’s going on in parts of South Africa. Look at South Africa, what’s going on. Look at South America, what’s going on. You know, we have a G20 meeting in South Africa. South Africa shouldn’t even be in the Gs anymore. Because what’s happened there is bad. I’m not going.”
Well, to a certain extent, many Cubans have fled to Miami to escape the Castro communist regime. On the other hand, many South and Central Americans have fled from dictatorships looking a lot like the one forming here. The move has always been north, to greater freedom, which might explain why so many Americans are now looking longingly at Canada.
But South Africa? Punting Elon over here is just about enough migration from them, thanks. It made no sense at all, and Rawstory noted another salient point:
Another individual questioned, “Joe Biden accidentally mixed up Emmanuel Macron with Francois Mitterand and it practically ended his presidency with the political media”
True. But again, Joe Biden was graded on the “Normal person” scale, and he did slide on that somewhat, but had five decades of experience to offset a lot of worry. Meanwhile, Trump has always shown a less-than-rudimentary grasp of world affairs, but it appears that he’s even unable to attain “Normal Trump Incomprehensibility.”
Trump also relies heavily on a cultish backstop that is either ready to forgive anything or, just as likely, now only sees what state television on the Right permits. Missing many of these moments.
He is worsening. He has had an MRI recently for reasons that have not yet been made public; we only know that they don’t do MRIs as part of a regular systems check. He has vascular disease in that his legs swell up to an embarrassing “root-like” degree. And then there are the bruised hands, the weird gait. All that. There is reason to believe that the near-80-year-old really does have his age catching up to him.
For many, there is reason for hope.

Zoomers, we are always in need of donations. We work hard to get you analysis that you will not find in the mainstream media, but all media have been hit hard since the big companies have gobbled up and monopolized commentary. Anything you can spare will be immensely appreciated. And thank you to all who have donated generously already. Ursula

Fatso has Dementia just like Bonehead Biden. This wouldn’t have happened if people wasn’t stupid and voted Dean Phillips or Chris Christine as President.
If you remember, he developed a great horror of the actual South Africa earlier this year (he was talking about it around May), when he changed immigration policy to favor white Afrikaners at a time when he was closing the gates to just about all others, allegedly because they were facing “genocide” in South Africa (which absolutely is not true). Meanwhile actual genocide in Gaza is fine with him. When you consider this, it amkes Trump look even less “compos mentis” than he already sounds.

Simples: he’s a fu*ked init … a fossil petrifying fossil that’s got more than a smudged orange patina! His SOL (space occupying lesion) is extending, for sure. No amount of spackle filler can remedy his cerebral fault lines.
Yup, he meant South America. This is like the war between Aberbaijan and Albania he ended. He meant Azerbaijan and Armenia, and he didn’t solve that one in any case.
Let’s hope he gets his countries right before he goes to war against them. Otherwise, the Marines may be landing on Vanuatu very soon.
