Carl Bernstein said a while back, “We are in the process of creating what deserves to be called the idiot culture. Not an idiot sub-culture, which every society has bubbling beneath the surface and which can provide harmless fun; but the culture itself. For the first time, the weird and the stupid and the coarse are becoming our cultural norm, even our cultural ideal.”
Let’s jump to Exhibit “A” proving up this proposition of Mr. Bernstein’s.
Woman at Trump rally today: “I was just told yesterday that I was part of a cult, and I’m damn proud of it. I am. He’s part of us. He truly is.” pic.twitter.com/vfpqE6EBUi

He may be “truly a part of us” if “us” is ignorant, bigoted people. But “us” is definitely not the inherited wealth class, the billionaire class. She’s not a part of that. He is. I’m also reasonably certain she’s not a serial law breaker like Trump is. But all of that is easy to ignore when you have the bias confirmation of Fox News, RSBN, Newsmax and all the rest telling you that Trump is Jesus and the Forces of Evil are persecuting and literally prosecuting him.
Guy at Trump rally is asked what he thinks of “woke”: “I’m definitely not anything about that type of mentality, carrying yourself that way. I don’t agree with any of that. I only associate myself with people who are like me and believe like me.” pic.twitter.com/32P4HGui1k

There’s a way to learn about other cultures and people. Again, viva education. At least when people pursue higher education, they run into people from different places, raised different ways, possibly even different races and from different countries. These are factors which develop people.
Woman at Trump rally: “I watch Trump every time he’s on TV. He just brings me so much hope and inspiration. We need to get down on our hands and knees and pray for this man to get into office. Evil has taken over. Good needs to overcome.” pic.twitter.com/vsRbq8zW9B

Hope and inspiration? That settles it. Either her television set or mine is picking up broadcasts from The Outer Limits, because we clearly are not seeing the same thing on the screen.

Trump is at the Erie Insurance Arena which seats 9,000 people. Let’s hear him brag about 50,000 or 100,000 in attendance when the place holds 9,000. And if you watch the camera pan, you’ll see there are some empty seats. Just to give you some comparisons, Yankee Stadium holds 47,000 (although it says it can hold 54,000 for football. Maybe somebody here can explain that, I can’t) and Fenway Park holds 37,000. But Trump would have you believe he had more people in attendance in a small town in Lindsey Graham’s rural county in South Carolina than Yankee Stadium can hold. Uh huh.
Get ready. Trump will take stage soon and unless somebody has ground Valium into his Diet Coke, expect him to be raging.
although he does think his whole life is HUGE
it’s just more “Dear Mister Fantasy” with him.
When Fascism comes to America, it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross.
