Theatrics are going to cost a few members of congress a nice chunk of pay, and rightfully so. Louie Toujours l’idiote Gohmert and his fellow gun toting congresscritter Andrew Clyde of Georgia were fined $5,000 today for skipping the metal detectors.

The fines are automatically deducted from their paychecks. Maybe this will wake them up. There is no reason to carry a gun to work, unless you’re a member of the military or a police officer. Being a wingnut congressman with a flare for the dramatic and the macho doesn’t count. But some people can’t learn anything until you hit ’em where it hurts.

  1. Popular song some time ago…”don’t take ur guns to town son, leave ur guns home. Don’t take ur guns to town.” No chance of them learning anything.

    • I’m a little curious, “God is he dumb”, could be a statement OR a question … truth be known, Mr. G has proven to be dumber that a solid piece of granite, like the smaller pieces picked up by the glaciers, rolled along until polished into smaller smooth pieces found on the shores of the Great lakes … those pieces show a nice face and some are beautiful … Mr. G has NO redeemable value, except to act like a doorstop and hold the screen door open and let out all those flies that were looking for him … earlier …

  2. How does fining these asshats keep anyone safe? If they’re not going to go through the metal detector then they should be barred from entering the chamber. Who does it help if they end up hurting or killing someone with their weapon? That $5000 fine doesn’t fix it. Ban them from the chamber.
