Self-described ‘right-wing activist’ (more like RWNJ) has fired another volley in the ongoing war between her and fellow RWNJ Marjorie Taylor Greene.  In theory MTG represents a Congressional district in Georgia. In the real world she represents herself, and has spent her time trying to imitate her hero Trump by building her “brand.” Ted Cruz has long been the most hated Senator (even by his GOP colleagues) although he’s getting some competition. However there’s no doubting MTG is on everyone’s short list for most hated fellow Congress Critter over in the House.  With so many people in Trump World worried about Loomer hanging out with Trump at Mar A Lago and urging him to create some distance she’s decided to lash out at someone else who Trump has held in favor. Hence the attack on Greene.

As Alternet reports MTG decided to head to Tuscaloosa over in Alabama to watch the Georgia Bulldogs take on Alabama’s Crimson Tide. It promised to be an epic game between the second and fourth ranked teams in the country and though it took until the fourth quarter for it to get truly exciting it delivered.  College football is religion down in those parts and it’s common sense for politicians to want to show up at games like that. Hell, even former Auburn (Alabama’s chief rival) head coach now Senator Tommy Tuberville was probably there somewhere.  Now, I can see Alabama elected types wanting to be seen at the “big game” for for Georgia ones not so much.

You’re surely aware that the state of Georgia, a HUGE chunk of it was severely impacted by hurricane Helene. I’m not sure of the latest count but around a dozen or so are already known dead from the storm. Damage to property will be in the many hundreds of millions and maybe more.  It’s a good time for elected officials to be home, calling for FEMA and other federal agencies to help the state with initial cleanup and restoration of basic services  – power, clearing of roads, providing food and water, shelter for those who’s homes were ruined/destroyed etc.  What it’s NOT is a time to make sure you’re being seen in another state at a ‘bigly huge’ college football game that will be on national TV and hyped to the gills. MTG had a choice between what she felt was highlighting her ‘personal brand’ as a ‘celebrity’ or being back in Georgia and seen conferring with staff, emergency officials (if only via video calls) and Gov. Kemp’s administration.

Given that not-so-good ole Laura Loomer drove a truck through the opening MTG provided:

15 people have died in Georgia during Hurricane Helene and the state of Georgia is experiencing massive flooding.

Instead of being in Georgia to help the people of her state, @mtgreenee MTG blew them off and decided to go to the football game in Alabama yesterday instead.

It speaks volumes to her lack of focus as a Congresswoman and it really shows she is more interested in fan fare as opposed to helping people in her state.

Gross negligence from a woman who is unfit to serve. Prayers to all who have been affected by Hurricane Helene.

While I personally believe Laura Loomer couldn’t give two sh*ts about the death, destruction and suffering of Georgians (‘prayers’ is a dead giveaway on that score) Loomer is right to call out MTG. It’s an uncomfortably weird feeling to find myself agreeing with Loomer but she’s pretty much right.  MTG should have had her butt in Georgia and be SEEN in Georgia instead of making sure it was seen over in Alabama.  However, something is missing from Loomer’s statement of faux outrage.  TRUMP was sitting there in a skybox at that very same game!

Not that HE should have been in Georgia stomping around some particularly hard hit area. Or any area in the state for that matter. Given the level of Secret Service protection he gets and the fact there have been two attempts on his life pulling the state and local resources to protect him would mean taking away first responders from people and places who need them much more than any political candidate. Still, as the full measure of the destruction of the hurricane (and in multiple states I should add) had become apparent by Saturday afternoon yucking it up in a skybox at a big-time nationally televised college football game maybe wasn’t the wisest PR move on Trump’s part.

Like I said, college football is religion in that part of the country but literally millions of people in states Trump desperately needs to win AND polls show could tip to Harris he had another choice. He COULD have put out statements and video of him “consulting” with Governors in the affected states, promising that if/when elected his administration would leave no stone unturned during the long prospect of rebuilding.  Instead he made a bigly show of being a college football fan.

With early voting either underway or about to start soon in those states what do you think all the voters affected by the storm, or who know people who were would have preferred to see from Trump? I sure hope Harris spent a bit of time with President Biden conferencing with FEMA, State versions of it and Governors and there’s film. It would make for some pretty effective advertising and not just in the states affected by Helene.

In the end however we might see yet another public spat between the two women most ardently vying for Trump’s attention. Like a car wreck on the side of the road it will be difficult not to take a look. However, the more GOP infighting that goes on the better it is for Democrats so let em have at it. And, as I said make some ads showing the contrast between “look at me at the big game!” photo ops vs. serious work making sure constituents are getting as much help as available and as fast as possible.

  1. What about slimy Marsha Blackburn and her checking on her home and the Jack Daniels distillery in her state before marking herself “Safe” from the flooding and appearing with vonshitznpantz? Both are vying for the next “Cancun Ted” award.

Yeah, he “COULD” have done all that but for one very inconvenient fact: Trump has personal grudges against the governors of two states that were most adversely and directly affected by the storm. (As for North Carolina and its problems, well, the state’s got one of those evil Democratic governors so he’s not going to waste any time–or sympathy–on him, much less look like he’s the least bit concerned.)

    • the other inconvenient fact being that his blueprint, Project 2025, calls for ending NOAA, NWS, FEMA, and all federal disaster insurance.

  3. So this loomer person hangs with a guy who showed his “concern” for hurricane victims by throwing rolls of paper towels at them? Honey, you’re not just butt-ugly (and how-shit look at that pic), you’re a moronic hypocrite. What is up with this broad’s lips f.f.s.? Does she inject them herself?

  4. Whew, ol Trumpy sure attracts the finest in females, don’t he now? I think he should set up a ring in one of the faux-gold rooms at Mar-a-Lardo and toss the pair of them in, with only fingernails (talons) and teeth (fangs) as weapons. Betcha he’d sell a lot of tickets to all those classy folks belonging to his “club.” FUX Sports would carry it live.
