What’s a disgraced, discombobulated, fat Orange Slob to do when his chief rival for the 2024 Rethuglican nomination is scoring cheap political points with the Faux News watching Make America Grate Again rubes by tormenting and making life miserable for asylum seekers, while he himself is battling legal troubles on three or four fronts as his hate rally audiences shrink to the point they could coagulate in a telephone booth?

Why, he can always call up his favorite idiot-whisperer Sean Hannity and sic him on his hated opponent…and take a swipe at the incumbent President he would likely face in two years, assuming he stays out of jail, at the same time…

  1. Much as the reaction from DeSantis should be fun to watch, what I wonder is the reaction coming from the other side of the Atlantic. Ruppert and (son) Lachlan Murdoch both want and need to wean Fox off of Trump. I still say they’ve been floating trial balloons, using of course the woman in their evening three hour white power hour lineup – mostly outside of her primetime gig. But they’d bled advertisers in the wake of Trump’s Presidency and want a much broader base than they now have for the long-term. They know damn well that’s not going to happen with Trump stomping all over the GOP and still managing to grab news cycles sometimes, albeit not dominate the way he did.

    But bottom line Trump has cost them money. No amount is ever enough for people like that, and they want to move on with someone else. DeSantis would seem like their kind of guy. Authoritarian, ruthless and willing to abuse power to make a government he heads (he’s proving it big time down there in FL) into a kingdom. Unlike Trump he actually knows how to plot and plan and get evil stuff done. The sooner Trump gets eased off the stage and they can rally conservatives behind DeSantis the better for their bottom line. I doubt when they wake up in a few hours they will be please to learn what Hannity did while they were sleeping. It’s too much to hope they’d fire his ass, but I think he’s got a major ass-whupping coming from them.

    • “Sanchez”, as my mom dubbed DeSantis, is actually MUCH dumber than Trump. The very fact that he is having to disavow his kidnapping of asylum seekers this early and has got a Texas sheriff looking into him speaks to this. Trump is the only reason he’s in office and it’s a cinch that he’ll be leaving it sooner than planned, either through losing reelection or getting federal charges dumped on him.

Maybe the Democrats in Florida should run some ads reminding voters how DeSantis–who so hates illegal immigrants–flew all the way to Texas to bring some illegal immigrants INTO FLORIDA just so he could PRETEND that Florida has an illegal immigrant problem. Basically just remind people that DeSantis has now taken on a second job–as a “coyote”–and the State of Florida is supposed to be paying him to UPHOLD the law, not break it.

    • I’m not so sure DeSantis has any of his own actions or emotions. All of him is part of Trump. Even his need for constant attention. If he goes down with Trump they can be bobsey twins and dress like each other and do each other’s hair.
