It is pretty clear that the American Kristallnacht is not setting well with the scions of the GOP. They are denouncing its instigator, Donald Trump, in no uncertain terms. Here is what Liz Cheney has to say:

Cheney should probably talk with that new Wyoming senator, Cynthia Lummis, who seems hell bent on running with the orange tribe, rather than sticking with the red. If American politics gets any more splintered, we’re going to look like those Hindu calendars with the brightly colored folks.

Lummis is one of the seditious thirteen. She sure got her career in national politics off to a rousing start.

As for Trump, I think he may live to eat his words, “The Liz Cheneys of the world, we have to get rid of them.” It would appear that Liz Cheney is getting rid of the Donald Trumps of the world.

    • After Wednesday’s botch job, wouldn’t you in their position? Guilt by association is a real thing no politician can afford, especially when it comes to the failures.

  1. Perhaps the only ‘good’ thing about the riot is… it finally woke people up. At least, this is what appears to be the case. Let’s hope it’s for real and not just for show.

    • Oh no, NOT strictly for show. Sheldon Adelson kicking the bucket coupled with the mass defunding of GOP campaign coffers is a one-two punch folks like Cheney got to think about. They get away from Trump now or be associated with him forever…no choice at all.

  2. Ulterior motive alert: this will also give Cheney a chance to take the House Minority Leader position from McCarthy, whose hitching his wagon to the falling star of Trump is going to crater his career. That, in turn, will give her a chance to redeem the Cheney family name that her father disgraced.

But you know something? I’m fine with that. This mess takes priority.

  3. Take this as a sign. The portents from the corporate gods have been read…and they’re demanding human sacrifices from their GOP lackeys.

  4. I’m just hoping that her statement has impact on other republicans. I heard Mitch McConnell instructed them to “vote your conscience” on the impeachment.

    • Which should be a major sign, as a conscience is the first thing you trade in to be a Republican. Trump remains an idiot but has gone from useful to liability. And since Wednesday made it obvious how far he’s willing to go, McConnell is going to shiv him first.

  5. Aaaand the knives are out – Gotta wonder who gets free stabs and who will have to duck, boogie and tango to get in their share of stabs.
