The Lincoln Project and comedian J-L Cauvin have united their considerable talents and come up with three attack ads on incumbent senators Susan Collins, Steve Daines and Dan Sullivan. If you haven’t heard Cauvin before, he’s a Trump imitator that sounds so much like Trump that it’s scary. I sincerely hope that he doesn’t go on the radio and say that the Martians have landed, because we saw how that worked out in 1939.

The Collins piece has Trump suggesting that Ivanka model lingerie, just to give you a clue of how nuts this gets.

This Dan Sullivan video has a plot twist at the end. That makes sense, since Trump is nothing if not a denizen of the Twilight Zone.

Steve Daines comes across as nondescript to the point of non existent in this ad, which is actually pretty accurate.

I daresay we will see more of these. Laughter is supposed to be the best medicine and mockery, in the hands of the right people, is a powerful weapon.

  1. Wish they would do one for Mississippi. Trump has gone from a 23 and 15 point advantage in Feb to 10 points in June. A win by Mike Espy would truly be the end of the party of the Klan.

  2. I don’t know who actually wrote the scripts, but they are sheer genius. I could never figure out how to fight Trump because he was SSSSOOOooooo good at BS. It never occured to me to satire him like this right back. Pure genius. So obvious when you see it done, but who’da thunk to do this in the first place. Thank you Cauvin amd all you geniuses at Lincoln (seriously George, my wife haven’t agreedd on anything in the nearly 30 years together other than “we love each other”. But you and Kellyanne? I just don’t get ot. Even Mary Matalin and old coot I get. Neither of them take themselves THAT seriously, so it can work. But you and Kallyanne? Huh???

    Actually, if you’re referring to the Orson Welles radio program, that was 1938. (Nitpicky, I know but we’re living in a time when even one minor inaccuracy can lead to charges that an entire article is completely inaccurate.)

  4. who is watching these ads? are they on facebook or other platforms? Are they getting in front of the eyeballs of people who really count? I wish we had more data on that.
