One of the things that assures a person a happy life as opposed to a frustrating one is self-knowledge. Having a just appraisal of one’s skills, one’s abilities, what one actually has to give to the world and can realistically expect the world to give back, is key to having a fruitful life. Ambition is a wonderful thing, but if you have an ambition to be a ballerina, it would be good if you’re young, thin, strong and coordinated, because if you’re old, fat, weak and clumsy, it ain’t gonna happen.

Ron DeSantis is somebody whose dreams and whose evident abilities don’t seem to jibe. That has been the case since he won reelection as Florida’s governor and then immediately began to abandon that state and head to the mid west and other venues to campaign for president. DeSantis is hell bent on getting the GOP nomination, despite all evidence to the contrary that that’s not going to happen. The tape you’re about to see is one of many. This is the beginning of the end, which is coming most probably January 15. if not then, then in New Hampshire.

And people in Florida are not happy with the man. This is the proof of the old adage, “don’t worry about getting a better job until you’ve mastered the job you’ve got.”

January is the month that a lot of things get decided. Let’s see if DeSantis decides to finally endorse Trump or what he does. We’re know a lot more about the 15th. Right now it’s all speculation. But unless something amazing happens, only one of four ways things can go:

  1. DeSantis wins Iowa — ala Ted Cruz and then washes out, ala Cruz;
  2. DeSantis loses Iowa — then goes on to lose New Hampshire and South Carolina;
  3. DeSantis loses the first three but still stays in the game, deciding that the western states can save him;
  4. Even after Trump’s atop the GOP ticket, DeSantis will continue to campaign for the honor, thereby signifying himself as deranged as Trump.

I would not count out option four. I don’t know how well this guy can handle loss. I don’t think he’ll handle it any better than Trump did, to be honest.

  1. Most Floridians are probably hoping for option 4 because they don’t want him back! Even the bulk of Republicans down there. I don’t feel sorry for the FL GOPers though. Not one bit. If those assholes hadn’t elected and then RE-elected him the rest of us wouldn’t have to put up with him. Gov. Kim Reynolds might be worried about her own career at this point because she went all-in on DeSantis. I understand a gaffe of Haley’s was revealed today but IF she finishes second in Iowa instead of DeSantis he won’t be the only one who’s toast. Iowans will be looking for another Gov. even before Trump makes a point of ripping her to shreds for so openly backing DeSantis.
