Lauren Boebert is a piece of work. She’s a QAnon gun crazy Trump sycophant, and a devotee of the politics as show biz faction of the Republican party. You know who they are: Marjorie Taylor Greene, Matt Gaetz, Ted Cruz, Josh Hawley, Mo Brooks, Madison Cawthorn, we could go on. Yet unlike the aforementioned colleagues of Boebert, she has yet to win her place in the wingnut sun. All the others are getting more attention and far more press.
Boebert sought to remedy this shortcoming Wednesday when she gathered 10 of her extremist colleagues in the House TV studio for the purpose of bringing Joe Biden low by making him the first president in U.S. history since Andrew Jackson to be censured by the House of Representatives. It was a photo op that swiftly degenerated into pure farce and Dana Milbank of the Washington Post has it nailed.
To protest President Biden’s immigration policy, she noisily unfurled a foil blanket and covered herself in it during Biden’s address to Congress. She announced at a town hall that she had “very good information” that a secret scandal would oust Democrats from power before 2022, a popular QAnon claim. Two hours after the Boulder shooter killed 10 people in her home state, she sent a fundraising email asking donors to tell “radical liberals” Pelosi and Biden “‘HELL NO’ to taking our guns.” […]
Boebert had to raise her game. And on Wednesday, she gave it her best shot. She assembled 10 colleagues in the House TV studio to announce her new resolution to censure Biden — a reprimand that a chamber of Congress has delivered only once in U.S. history, to Andrew Jackson — over Biden’s border policy. “The Biden regime has punched our Border Patrol agents in the face!” she shouted, after calling Vice President Harris “Cackling Kamala.”
Not bad. But Boebert was immediately overshadowed by her colleagues, who put on a clinic in crazy talk.
Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-N.C.) called Biden “a reckless lawbreaker” who “spits on the laws,” “prioritizes napping” and wants “to lead America to ruin.”
Gohmert proposed that Biden “had no clue what was going on” with the border and “has some real mental issues that need to be evaluated.”
And then there was Greene, who endorsed the “censor” resolution — but then one-upped Boebert. Biden “doesn’t need just censured, he needs impeached,” Greene said. […]
The event was on brand for Republicans. While the world-leading vaccine rollout in the United States and the sweeping covid relief have propelled the U.S. economy to faster growth than other developed countries, Republican lawmakers and the Fox News echo chamber have established a parallel universe in which the country is overrun by crime, illegal immigrants, killer coronavirus vaccines, critical race theory, cancel culture and defund the police.
Poor Lauren Boebert. She’s surrounded by Republicans talking crazy and she talks as crazy as she can, but it just isn’t cutting any ice. Her crazy is lite crazy. She just can’t get the extra sugar, the extra muscle injected into her crazy. What to do oh what to do?
In the past couple of weeks alone, she falsely claimed that liberals “legalized knowingly spreading HIV,” asserted that her election “is certainly a sign and a wonder, just like God promised,” attacked a trans woman weightlifter with the message “Welcome to the Woke Olympics” and declared that “Critical Race Theory is now mainstream.” The former proprietor of Shooter’s Grill in Rifle, Colo., also claimed she could carry her gun in the Capitol and refused to allow the U.S. Capitol Police to search her purse after setting off a metal detector. She even compared Biden’s German shepherds to violent illegal immigrants. But she has failed to rise above the din of crazy coming from her colleagues.
Wednesday’s censure gambit fared no better. Fox News’s Chad Pergram asked Boebert — twice — to contrast her Biden censure with the Jackson censure, in 1834. Both times, Boebert’s answer betrayed no indication that she knew who Andrew Jackson was.
We don’t know what to tell you Lauren. All the good beats have been taken. You can’t blame the Clintons for another murder, that’s old hat. Matt Gaetz seems to be on the Wuhan lab conspiracy hot and heavy, but maybe you could ask him to throw you a crumb. You could try Joe Biden’s dementia but unless you can find a new angle on that, it’s liable to fizzle. Hannity and Ingraham have wrung that rag dry. There’s not a drop left in it.
It looks like you’re going to have to come up with some fresh material, Lauren. Maybe give Alex Jones or Roger Stone a ring. If anybody knows how to make up insanity out of whole cloth, it’s those boys. If you come up with something sufficiently batshit, Hannity will give you airtime, you can be pretty sure of that. Your act isn’t the only one getting stale, his is too.
Good look with your next audition for the QAnon Qrazy Hall Of GOP Fame. Right now it looks like you’re striking out and you’re still the poor man’s Sarah Palin.

The other no-accounts have been practicing their stupidity a lot longer than her, sadly, Ms. Blowhard, has already found the limits to her grand plans, via the mountain of truth that continues to show up when these pea brains get loud, saying nutty stuff … her disrespect for our new WH team, shows a two-bit wanna be, way out of her league … the big slam is almost here, the sound of those heavy steel doors closing in behind the Trump gang, the whole criminal clan needs some years to think things over … I wonder if Trump’s youngest son, (at least we think he is), there may be several mistakes walking around that have an uncanny resemblance to DJT … but, any way, I wonder if he would ever come to visit any of the family behind bars … I just can’t imagine DJT’s current wife showing up for a conjugal visit …

She does not know much. She dropped out of high school and only barely passed the G.E.D. exam which she only took because it was thought it would look better to voters. I have to say if this is what comes of taking the G.E.D., maybe folks might be better off not taking the damned thing.
I’m thinking we need to have something like that “Baker Act” (mentioned in the “Palm Beach Third Grader” article) for these Qook members of Congress. The whole lot in this story should be handcuffed and taken away for psychiatric observation to make sure they’re not a threat to themselves or to others.
That would be one way to ensure these nuts are kept out of the spotlight for a few days (probably months if the shrinks and staff are halfway competent).
