Joe Biden made another slip of the tongue last week and Lauren Boebert just had to jump all over it. And I get it. Donald Trump provided us all with ample gaffes and idiot remarks and there are many memes, mashups and videos to prove it. So I do get it.

But there is a line to be drawn at death threats, even opaque ones, and Boebert does not seem to know the line. She has gone down this path with Biden before.

If you didn’t catch this one a month ago, Boebert prayed about President Biden, “may his days be few.”

That brought a lot of flack her way. You would think that she would have learned. But no. Here we are, almost one month to the day later and this is what she tweeted.

What prompted this was Joe Biden saying a few days ago, “Ten years old and she was forced to travel out of the state to Indiana to seek to terminate the presidency and maybe save her life.”

As stated, I get the joke. But her statement in the tweet conveys a sinister intent, to say the very least. It’s not a verbatim quote. It’s more like a Freudian slip and that’s pushing it because a Freudian slip is usually a little more veiled than this.

So that’s why people began to react to the dummy and report her to the FBI.

It is another threat. Last month’s “may his days be few” crack on Boebert’s part was tasteless. And it crossed the line. Today, she’s got a simple declarative sentence which talks about ending a presidency. Whose? Why, we presume the sitting president of the country she’s in, unless she could be found to be talking about some other country, Sri Lanka perhaps? They are terminating the presidency over there, that’s for sure.

I don’t think she’s referring to Sri Lanka. I would bet money she doesn’t even know what’s happening in Sri Lanka. Or has even heard of the place. She probably thinks it’s a hot sauce or some form of kinky massage.

There are more but you get the idea. This is not funny ha ha time when a sitting member of congress threatens the life of the President of the United States twice in a month. I would say maybe Kevin McCarthy should talk to her but I won’t insult your intelligence. As if he could effect any change in any member of his wayward caucus. Forgive me for even thinking about it.

    • Boebert is a reactive troll that makes a six figure income. That’s as simple as it gets. She figures she’s dong her job if she’s said something outrageous. This politics as performative jackassery, as Ben Sasse called it, really needs to end.

  3. And we all just know what would happen if somebody “jokingly” suggested that Boebert be “terminated” by the folks in her district. She’d be on every right-wing site, whining about how her “life has been threatened” and that the FBI needs to “investigate” every single person who made such a joke.

    I’m just hoping the FBI does “have a chat” with her and remind her that threats OF ANY SORT made against the President CANNOT be tolerated, no matter how much she wants to frame it as a “joke.” And then, kind of impress on her that another “visit” from them may very well lead to her prosecution and likely lifelong imprisonment.

    • I wonder what happened to her defamation lawsuit against Occupy Democracy, or some site with a similar name. She was going to tear them down to the ground for writing that she’d been a prostitute or whatever. That was a big flash in the pan and then zero follow up. Wonder what’s up with that?

  6. Well Ursula, given reports of her last part time job if true. She would be up on any kinky massage. I’m just saying, considering the past rumors. Now I also believe she wouldn’t know where Shri Lanka is if she was standing in their airport after an emergency landing of some sort. Also since I’m somewhat older, there is a saying about it being good a place had no outside toilets because certain people wouldn’t be able to find the facilities when needed. I am sure Lauren would fall into that category especially since she’s from a western state and they dealt with this longer than eastern states.
