Gee, it seems like there’s a pattern forming here. We had a registered Republican, Thomas Mathew Crooks, take a shot at Donald Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania. And now we have Charlie Kirk dead at the hands (theoretically; Tyler Robinson isn’t guilty until adjudicaed as such, but he did confess) by a man whose entire family is “all MAGA.” That would tend to blow up Donald Trump’s allegations that the radical leftist lunatics did this. Robinson has not been surrounded by leftists, at least not in the bosom of his family, he’s been surrounded by Trump lovers, in one of the deepest red states in the country.

Could it be that maybe the crazies in this country, granting for the sake of argument that there is a a group we could label “crazies” meaning those who hoard guns, seem to be coming from the right side of the spectrum? I’m putting this as delicately as possible because I think it’s time that people start looking dispassionately at the facts as though seeing them for the first time and begin to look at what’s happening in our nation with a clear eye. We are seeing a meltdown of norms in this country and Trump can go on with his hyperbole about how the Democrats are stirring the hate pot and turning up the heat but in point of fact the only one ginning up the lunatic fringe is him and that’s because the lunatic fringe was key in electing him.

Meanwhile, every single prominent Democrat from Barack Obama and Gavin Newsom on down has gone on record as being appalled at Kirk’s assassination. Even humble outlets like this one have acknowledged that whatever his politics, Kirk was a husband and father of two small children. Stephen King made a tepid remark about how Kirk “wanted to stone alt the gays to death,” (which is true) and Senator Mike Lee demanded that King be sued for defamation, to which the master of horror replied, “Here’s evidence that idiots can pass the bar.” Lee’s motivation in singling out a bland remark of King, a Maine Democrat, was to desperately shine a light on some, any, prominent Democratic voices that he could lay his hands on in order to blame the left. In all events, Let’s see what Grandma Robinson, has to say about the crucibile that formed the confessed assassin.

Tyler Robinson, 22, the man arrested in connection with the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, comes from a MAGA family, his grandmother has revealed.

Although MAGA figureheads have been quick to point fingers at the left for Kirk’s death, Tyler’s grandmother, Debbie Robinson, 69, insisted that they come from a family of Trump supporters.

She spoke with the Daily Mailon Friday after news of Robinson’s arrest broke. “My son, his dad, is a Republican for Trump,” Debbie told the outlet. “Most of my family members are Republican. I don’t know any single one who’s a Democrat.”

Well, that pretty much wrecks the case for Democratic hatemongering being the key factor to indoctrinate young Tyler Robinson. Democrats are in the minority in Utah. It’s not inconceivable he knew some but it’s a bit of a stretch to assume that they were militant and proselytizing assassination. That kind of falderol only exists in Trump’s *mind* because it’s so self serving.

According to public records, Robinson’s parents are both registered Republicans. His mother, Amber Robinson, 44, is a licensed social worker. His father, Matt, runs a business installing kitchen countertops, cabinets, and stone surfaces in their home city of Washington, Utah. Both of them have held hunting licenses. A Facebook post made by Amber Robinson describes one of Tyler’s brothers as a “gun toting, cowboy loving, brilliant kid.” […]

“The family member referenced a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to September 10, and in the conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU. They talked about why they didn’t like him and the viewpoints that he had,” [Utah Governor Spencer] Cox said.

Cox did not provide further details on how, exactly, Robinson had become more political in recent years. Photos found on Facebook show that Robinson dressed up as President Donald Trump for Halloween in 2017—with the president’s face painted green—but internet experts who have sought to contextualize Robinson’s radicalization within online culture have suggested this could have been a meme, much like the symbols and phrases found scratched into Robinson’s bullet casings were.

I don’t think words like “hey fascist, catch” and “bella chao” were simply memes. I think there were a statement that Robinson found Kirk reprehensible.

The real story here, and has been since minute one, is “why?” What motivated this young man from a Republican family to loathe Charlie Kirk so much to where he carefully planned and executed this shooting, a bulls eye 200-yard shot, straight to the jugular? That’s what we need to know. We can’t ask Mathew Crooks his motive, he’s long gone. But maybe there’s a MAGA undercurrent that exists and that would certainly be worthwhile to know.

Finally, poor Nancy Mace. She’s been wearing out her thumbs on social media with platitudes like DEMOCRATS OWN THIS. Not from all we can gather, Nance.

  1. The only pattern here is stupid liberals jumping to conclusions and thinking they’re right. Ursula: he’s white & from a Republican voting family in Utah, he must be a conservative. Or he dressed up as Trump for Halloween 8 years ago. Or my favorite, his grandma says he didn’t do it. Denis’s theory is too stupid to even mention here, I’ll destroy that one again on one of his articles.
No, he’s an example of an indoctrinated hateful leftist and now a murderer. I hope he gets the firing squad.
Oh and that piece of crap stephen king was not right. He of course misrepresented what Kirk actually said.

    • Wow. I feel special now as ‘Mark the MAGAnificent’ has singled me out. I can see and hear Kirk in clips for myself. I can read things he’s written. I’ve never said he was stupid, because he has a sense of how far he can push the line of free speech. FYI, I was 92nd percentile on my college boards back in the day which means I was in the top eight percent of those taking those exams that colleges/universities use to select who gets in. I’m no dumbass. I rather doubt you are either, except for being a willful dumbass.

I can respond if I choose to whatever you might comment to a post I’ve put up here in the comments section of my own articles. However since you bring it up here I’ll briefly say what I said earlier today. (Keep in mind all the posts on social media of Kirk saying things he said) The few posts attempting to provide ‘proof’ of Robinson have been debunked – the individuals in them have been ID’d and at least one has come forward. Robinson was active on social media so IF there were instances of him hanging with what you call ‘left wing lunatics’ they’d be plastered all over the internet and even mainstream news. Also, as you know folks on our side of the aisle also post stuff including meetings we attend and people that are interesting we encounter. I’m sure that if Robinson had hung out with liberals many of them would have made posts about a born and bred to be Trump loving MAGA being on our side!

I won’t say for sure, especially given we’re likely to see at least a few attempts to use AI to insert Robinson into left wing culture. But I’ll say what I indicated this morning which is that as soon as authorities learned his name Patel had a small army of FBI agents scouring the internet for writings, pictures and video of Robinson hanging out with liberals or promoting liberal ideology. They’d had plenty of time to come up with even a few examples that would hold up to scrutiny by the time of that “we got him” press conference. What IS out there is pictures of Robison with family and friends, including shooting and hanging out at gun shows. MAGA people and stuff.

As for the theory I advanced that Robinson was one of the hard-core MAGAs demanding release se of the Epstein files and felt Kirk had betrayed the cause I clearly said it was speculation. We might never know why Robinson chose to murder (and yes, I will fully agree with you it was a cold-blooded murder) Kirk. Then again he might reveal his motives or information that can be checked comes to light and makes a decent if not strong case as to why he did it. We will just have to wait and see.

What we DO know is that in recent decades a good three-fourths of political violence has been carried out by conservatives against liberals. Odds are Robinson went off the rails but it was right wing ideology that motivated him and that’s why I said it’s possible he simply snapped when Kirk echoed Trump’s call to MAGA to forget about Epstein. Time will tell.
