Judge Lewis Kaplan Just Wrote The Book That EVERYBODY Needs To Read Before Dealing With Trump

*Full Disclosure* I am going to be blunt tonight. Not my usual sarcastic, poison-pen, sardonic blunt, I’m going to be sledge hammer blunt. Because, to be perfectly honest, I’m sick to death of this sh*t.

We have a serious problem in this country. We celebrate notoriety. Not just fame, not just accomplishments, not just celebrity, not just wealth, nut notoriety. And those two things are worlds apart.

Look at a sample of the people and personalities we have chosen to celebrate and revere in the last 100 years. Michael Jordan, Joe DiMaggio, LeBron James, FDR, Nelson Mandela, Winnie Mandela, Pope John Paul II, and Erni9e Banks.

And why not? There’s just something pleasurable and soul lifting about people who, for the most part, come from modest means, rise far above their expected station in life, and when they do, don’t just rest on their laurels, they give back to the humble people who made them what they are.

But who else have we chosen to lionize in the last 100 years? Bonnie and Clyde, Ma barker, George “Baby Face” Nelson, Al Capone, John Gotti, even Ivan Boesky, Martha Stewart and Bernie Madoff. You know you’ve made it then the populace of misguided toys name your criminal schemes after you.

Seeing the dichotomy here? The people in the first category share fame, excellence, and accomplishment. Their lives and accomplishments were worthy of our praise and adulation. But the second tranche were and are nothing more than common thugs, criminals. But in America, if you can get enough national media attention, then you can become notorious. And not only to these despicable miscreants, but to the people who elevate them, it’s all the same thing.

Just look at the world class sh*theels, one Donald John Trump. The man is a third rate, lifelong career con man and criminal. He likes to think of himself as a Godfather, but if he ever actually saw blood, he’d puke and then faint into it.

Real world class sociopaths and vicious criminals like Gotti, Capone, and Accardo didn’t need PR flacks to spread their notorious fame, they let their deeds and reputations do that for them. Traitor Tot is so sad and pathetic that he actually masqueraded as his own PR flack to get his pathetic stunts into the media.

When I was young, 100 years ago, a famous clothier had an advertising tag line, The clothes make the man. What unutterable bullsh*t. You can dress a pig in a tutu, and swipe lipstick on it, and it’s still just a pig. You can put a Gotti or a Trump into a $5000 suit, but they’re still nothing more than 3rd rate sociopathic thugs.

His Lowness is proud of crowing at rallies that He’s been indicted more times than Scarface Al Capone. I can’t help but wonder what kind of a public figure actually glorifies in claiming to be more notorious than Al Capone? There’s just one thing that El Pendejo Presidente should remember. It only took one indictment for federal prosecutors to put Capone on The Rock.

Trump is the premier juxtaposition between Fame and notoriety. Let me ask you one simple question. If NBC, to their eternal shame, had not let a rodeo clown like Trump spend nine years snarling You’re Fired! once a week, without every winning an Emmy, that The Cheeto Prophet could ever have gotten out of New Hampshire and on to Super Tuesday? The rest of the GOP field had reputations. Trump had global notoriety. It wasn’t even close.

And if there’s one thing that a lifelong grifter and career criminal like Trump knows how to do, it’s to capitalize on his notoriety. And as such, while facing trials in four venues for some 91 criminal indictments, Trump is using his, no pun intended, Trump card. Trump is using the four years of his presidency to give him the imprimatur of respect and dignity and probity.

More unutterable bullsh*t. The simple fact that we, as a country managed to elect a 3rd rate grifter like Donald Trump the President is not an indication of his character, intelligence, personality, or integrity. Instead it’s a national badge of shame that there were enough, stupid, ignorant, disconnected notoriety seekers to put his fat, stupid f*cking ass there in the first place.

And only New York Federal District Judge Lewis Kaplan seems to have ignored the bullsh*t and done the job. The federal judges in Washington DC and the Southern District of Florida gave The Mango Messiah a pass on the usual indignity of being mug shotted. Only Fulton County, Georgia treated Trump like everybody else. Even New York state trial jidge Arthur Engeron twisted himself into a judicial pretzel in trying to deal with Trump without  threatening an overturn on appeal for not being slavish enough to a former President.

Only Judge Lewis Kaplan saw through the bullsh*t. Only Kaplan looked at Trump, looked past the lipstick and the tutu, and saw the fat pig at the defense table in front of him. Regardless of Trump’s former position, and regardless of whom Kaplan may personally have voted for, Kaplan did something that nobody else has done so far. He looked down at Trump and saw just another 3rd rate looser. A thug.

And that’s exactly how he ran his court and the trial. Not only did he not give His Lowness any presidential deference. he also treated Trump’s lead counsel, Alina Habba for exactly what she was. A 3rd rate mouthpiece who has no business holding a law license.

He treated Habba like the legal lunkhead she is. After Carroll’s expert witness on character reclamation laid her to waste, she tried a last minute stunt of calling an expert witness of her own in her rebuttal case. Small problem. She didn’t add the expert witness on her witness list in time to qualify to testify! Too-old,-too-fat,-sp-sad,-bye-bye. And in pre-closing motions, Kaplan twice told Habba that she was one word short of spending some time in lockup, and to sit down.

He was no kinder or gentler with Traitor Tot. Trump demanded to testify in his own behalf, clearly wanting to turn the session into a MAGA rally, but Kaplan shut him down most riki-tik. Kaplan did an end run around Trump by restricting the questions that Habba could ask The Trumpster Fire to trial related issues only and which could be answered by yes-or-no. Trump was so furious that he theatrically stormed out of court during the plaintiff’s closing arguments, only to return for Habba’s brainless babble.

Judge Kaplan has written the entire playbook for dealing with Trump as a defendant. And with tongue firmly in cheek, let’s call it a judicial Green Bay Sweep. When Trump shows up in your courtroom, forget the word President, and treat him like the 3rd rate thug that he is! It’s that simple, and Judge Kaplan played it to perfection. Remember this. Richard Nixon was a President, yet Gerald Ford had to pardon him to keep him from being convicted.

You all know that I’ve been bullishly complimentary of federal district judge Tanya Chutkan.

But she f*cked up. When she ruled against Trump’s claim of absolute immunity, the Trump defense team appealed the ruling. Guess what? Tough sh(t, the defense files an appeal after conviction and not in pre-trial motions.

But Judge Chutkan blew it. Following the filing of the appeal, she voluntarily suspended the trial proceedings pending the appellate and presumed Supreme Court rulings. Wrong. There was no pressing, case precedent reason for her to do so. She could easily have continued on with the status hearings, and even the pre-trial motion hearing while waiting for the courts to do their things. And if she had, she might not be looking at an extended delay to her March 3rd trial date.

Judge Lewis Kaplan wrote the playbook for dealing with Donald Trump, and he did in the simplest way possible. He. Did. The. Job. He looked down from his bench at Donald Trump, and he saw just another 3rd rate loser. Just another armed robber, or carjacker. And the sooner that everybody else in the judicial system starts looking at Trump that way, like Judge McAfee in Fulton County, the sooner we’ll put this national disgrace behind us.
